Two AAC teams are ranked, with Houston at #18 and Tulane at #19. ECU, UCF, USF, and UConn are all receiving votes, so this could turn out to be a great year for AAC baseball.

Those voters for whatever this poll comes from are clueless...as they gave votes to 98 teams...98!!

UCF might have signed/added the most JUCO's in the nation (some not highly regarded), yet they (along with 97 other teams) got votes from "somewhere" or somebody.

Poll sounds like one decided by bird droppings where most teams ended up with votes over a week period.

To be fair, most preseason polls are a load of sh!t anyway. I think they just acknowledge that it's too uncertain to really tell, hence ranking a full 40 teams and then showing votes received for so many extra.

The monumental collapse UCF had in the second half of the season last year still stings.

They always rank 40. That's why so many received votes because they voted on the top 40

We weren't close to being ranked last year, and it's not like we're bringing on any big names. We'll improve, but there are certainly question marks. Namely the weekend rotation

I thought ECU was ranked (at least in some poll) going into regionals last year? Or am I completely misremembering?

ECU was ranked going into regionals.

And then we choked

Tulane returns a ton of the lineup and all SP's plus have some solid transfers and freshmen. Coach David Pierce is a beast as well.

Once we get a new Bball coach, things will be really looking up for 4 important programs.

They always do for their preseason polls, but Collegiate Baseball only ranks 30 throughout the year (and doesn't publish those receiving votes throughout the year either). My point being they add on more for preseason because it's so imprecise at this point.

If I'm reading that correctly, everyone polled picked my Bearcats to finish 8th. That, my friends, is what you call consistency. I don't see any other program coming close to that level of consistency. Bunch of pretenders.

Cincy's 8 points is 1 point better than last year.

Whitting has to vote for someone else, which explain's Tulane's vote, but I wonder if the coach that voted for UConn this year is the same one that voted for UCF last year (over the preseason #3 team in the country). It seems like we always have one stray, butthurt voter.

Here's hoping the AAC sends 2 teams to the CWS this year! 04-cheers

I think I will make another trip to Clearwater this year to watch our conference tournament. Those of you who have yet to do so, don't know what you are missing.
