Where do we go from here?
A smart ass would say Mobile, but I'm obviously referring to the season.
We have some tough teams we're going to have to play within conference. Arlington has to be the biggest surprise. Ga State is to be expected. I'm sure Monroe and Lafayette will be tough once conference play begins. So where does that leave us?

Texas Tech put a spotlight on some of our potential problems. You can't win every game with just two guys doing most of the scoring and the others practically none. You can't get your only really big man in foul trouble early every game. Lis has to begin to learn to play without fouling. We're in trouble against good teams when he's not on the court.

Losing Daniel Green is a bigger loss that we might have thought. I will say Mareik is doing an admiral job playing in the middle on defense, but we needed another big man inside and need Mareik to give us another scoring threat, and he's not really doing it right now. We're having a difficult time getting our shooters open for clean perimeter shot.

We're a good, not great team. We can't change this season, but I would think to reach the level of a national team, we'll have to find a way to recruit more big inside players who can play. And that's difficult for a program like ours, but I have confidence that if anyone can do it, Coach Beard can.

Also, it was interesting to me that the guy that really hurt us yesterday, both his mother and his father played here at Little Rock.
Why wouldn't he even consider coming here to play? Did anyone really know about him? And Aaron Ross is a kid from right here in Little Rock. As I've said in the past, when we starting signing good players from Little Rock and Pulaski County, we'll know we're starting to become a really good program. Until then, we'll still be the unattractive stepsister!04-cheers

My opinion is if we get Green back to where he can play 15 min per game we win the Sun Belt and have a good shot at winning a game or two in the tournament. Without Green we can beat anyone as long as Lis can stay on the floor 25 minutes, without him we're just to small on interior defense. Mareik does a good job but that takes away from his strength. The others are to small to guard a legit Power conference big man.

I don't look to get Green back this year. At least not in top shape, which we need him to be if he is going to be effective. I think we're stuck with what we have now, for better or worse. Hope I'm wrong.04-cheers

Coach can do it. What was thrown together on the fly this year has turned out well, but I am looking forward to seeing what he can come up with from a full recruiting season. And I agree: we have to get some bigs.

I said we would finish top 4 before the season started. I feel more strongly about that now. Winning all our home games and splitting on the road should get us to where we want to be. We usually slip up at home once or twice, but I have a feeling Coach Beard won't let that happen.

We need some bigger crowds to make the Jack more of an advantage. Come on out, folks.

I am not sure what the percentage attendance has to be in an arena for it to have a "full" feel to it. A lot depends on how vocal the crowd is, and our fan base is a lot more geriatric than most.

If we can get to the 3500 to 4000 range, the Jack will be a tough place to play. I think we might see some crowds over 5000 before the season is over.

RE: Where do we go from here?
I think anything over 2/3 full would have a full house feel.
