Let's see...of recent memory...Eddie Lacy, Jeremy Hill, Javarious "Buck" Allen, Melvin Gordon, Ameer Abdullah. Those were all this year. I'm sure you can go back further and find more if you want. The idea that starting NFL RBs don't get benched for having poor ball security or pass protection skills is hilarious.

Also your comment on depth has nothing to do with your attack on the coaching. Players are responsible for protecting the ball. Is there technique to ball security? Sure. Is it some crazy science? No. Sometimes players are just good at it or they aren't. You also realize that the coaches have seen Huff about 1000x more than you have right? They have watched hundreds of practice and probably thousands of snaps that he was in. I'm going to trust their professional opinion over yours. Sorry.

Pretty hilarious. You named a bunch of rookies and guys fighting for their jobs and not "top" players as you mentioned. As for my attacking the coaches, it was Carey who questioned Huff's work ethic. I'm just saying more needs to be done from a coaching aspect if Carey wants a perfect RB. I'm willing to accept Huff's two fumbles if he's going to get the tough yards and touchdowns. Carey seems to expect perfection from Huff while Maxwell can screw up dozens of times. If he wants Huff to be perfect then I want to see how much investment has gone into him.

Lacey was a top 5 RB coming into the season. Hill top 10 or maybe even better. I can't believe for a second that Carey doesn't see the talent Huff has. I'm sure he wants him on the field more, but it's not like Bouagnon is a scrub. He's just not as explosive. I'm guessing Carey was trying to keep games close and win them in the 4th. You can do that with Bouagnon. It's fair to disagree with that philosophy, but this was a difficult year for the offense for numerous reasons.

Lacy was benched for lack of production/injuries and Hill wasn't benched for fumbling. Yeah players get benched all the time...

Maybe top players don't fumble with frequency?? And if top players don't fumble, and Huff does……well, you get the math.

The occasional fumble might be worth an extra 4 yards per carry.

For sure. Sometimes. But your winning percentage as it relates to winning the turn-over battle is huge.

Plus Huff only had 80 carries. That 87 yard et raised his average by a full yard, while Bouagnon does the goal line work, hurting his average. Huff is still the more explosive back, easily. It's just risk/reward.

Lacey was benched for fumbling.

This is true, and when his back-up James Starks fumbled last Sunday against the Raiders they went to using Randall Cobb as a running back.

For the 5000th time, the coaches have seen him more than anyone else. Maybe he makes tons of mistakes in practices and scrimmages. Maybe he is slow with the playbook or his attitude toward teammates and coaches is bad. I have no idea and I'm not going to pretend to. Multiple coaches have input on who gets playing time. I like the coaches resumes and time experience with the players more than my opinion or anyone else's. Coaches want to win games. If they thought Huff gave them the best chance then he would be on the field more.

RE: Poinsettia Bowl Update: Graham
And back to the topic of this thread----we believe Graham is starting. Is anyone out there that can confirm he is running and how he looks?

Don't mean to hijack this back, but Jeremy Hill was my protected player this year and if I see his name one more time I will scream!
