Board of Trustees approved replacing the Glass Bowl turf at a cost of $540,000. Installation will begin after the Spring Game and be completed in time for summer marching band practice.

Would like to see them put the official Toledo logo on the field.

That would be awesome. Just as long as it's not gray.

My preference, nothing "creative." The rocket is fine, like they have now but the less cluttered the main field the better. Put whatever in the end-zones.

Replace the MAC logo with:

"The Glass Bowl"
"Toledo, Ohio"

Like a lot of stadiums have on the field.

Maybe they should consider placing the Toledo Blade logo on the new turf.

Probably not direct enough. Maybe a "block" house.

athletic gold turf. Boom.

Keep the playing surface simple. Everyone's going overboard these days. Some neat end zone art would be cool though

AGAIN??!?! what the hell......it sounds like toledo....buying cheap asphalt and replacing it more often than they should. rather than paying more for the good stuff and having it last longer

Uhh, this turf has lived it's life. They didn't buy cheap. It's been around for 8 years (link: http://www.utrockets.com/news/2008/7/15/...all.aspx). That's a good lifetime for a turf field.

What's the "Toledo Blade"? Oh, I forgot, it's the "former" name of the Blade. Wasn't the Toledo Blade around when there used to be a Medical College of Ohio (MCO)? Funny how "The Blade" can forget about being known as "The Toledo Blade", but can't let go of the name MCO?

Actually, I think I heard it mentioned some time back that the turf job was being considered.

Not much of a skyline...

It would be awesome if they drew this really cool skyline in the endzones and then it would get replicated downtown!

I suggested adding "The Glass Bowl" because I get asked, when out of town, where Toledo is.......

Some don't have them. Especially shared stadiums.
