Wonder if that is Tony Massenburg's son.

Yup....if he is anything like his dad that would be a great get assuming he is a post-player.

Massenburg is 6'8" - 6'9" and more of a rim protector but supposedly he can come out and make 3s as well. Has already visited Middle Tennessee and Temple- SMU may also be in the mix.

Our class is going to be full, as Dre Perry and Justyn Hamilton are about to commit.

The 247 site predicts Massenburg will go to Middle Tenn for whatever that's worth.

Are you sure?

From the interwebs:

FAMILY LIFE
He has a son named T.J.

Whenever T.J. Massenburg, son of former Maryland star and NBA player Tony Massenburg, shows up at the gym, rims are in danger of being torn down. The 6-foot-7 post player may be a tad undersized to be a center at the highest level of college hoops, but he’s an explosive athlete and very physical. He’s a dominant rebounder and his length makes him a quality rim protector.

I am positive. Our recruits dad is an engineer. Fairly certain that we did not even have an engineering degree when tony was here.
He has a son named T.J.

RE: 2017 Hoops Recruiting
I was listening to an interview about TJ Massenburg and they mentioned his "Strong bloodlines". Not to further speculate but is it possible that the man who was with TJ (an engineer) is not his paternal father? TJ lives in Georgia and I believe Tony is in Maryland still but it's possible TJ lives with his Mom and step Dad.

RE: 2017 Hoops Recruiting
Dukes offered a 2017 player on Saturday by the name of Donald Carey from Frederic Douglas High in MD. He's a 6-3 point guard. Was originally offered by George Mason, as well as Howard and St. Pete. Mason seems to be out of scholarships at this point. I would guess the kid was on campus yesterday given the timing of the offer, but pure speculation on my part.

Did anyone see a 6"9" guy with the basketball coaches/team yesterday? Did the MBB team hold any open practice type event for Parent's weekend?

The convo was being used for parents weekend so the men were in the urec facility which is open to anyone with a JMU ID. The 6'9" guy must have been TJ because the other recruits were not that tall.

Big walk on as in big in stature or as in big in talent- i.e. Chris Flemmings of UNCW?

Dukes offered a JUCO today that started out at Texas Tech by the name of Jordan Jackson. He's got a famous relative.

Verbal Commits also has Memphis (Tubby) keeping an eye on him. Play JUCO for a year then catch back on with the coach that recruited you...
