For the longest time I figured it had to be the size of the gene pool up there @Ruston. I've come to realize though that there's more, much more. They not only have a limited gene pool, they obviously pee in it and drink the water.

Ark State was not the easy push over that ULL always is. At least they kept it a game for three quarters. Our game tonight was tied at halftime. Our games with with ULL are pretty much over by the end of the first half.

Always? Wouldn't that imply LahTech has never lost a football game to the Cajuns?

OK, I suppose you can look back 20 or 30 years ago and find some USL wins over Tech, but Tech has won the last eight meetings between our two schools. One of those last eight meetings was close, the other seven were all blowouts. The Cajuns have simply not been able to field a team that was competitive with Tech in football for over two decades. One would think that you'd be used to it by now CF.

What I'm not accustomed to is a guy who seems to prefer to speak in absolutes. I guess that's just who you are.

As swampbear pointed out, while Tech has had our number for a long while, your overall play has been, well, average over the last decade or so. You guys got really lucky the last couple of years with two impact transfer qbs. From what I understand, Skip won't be looking for another this coming year but will go with whoever shines in the spring. Could make for an intereting year for you guys next year.

We learned the hard way this year that just any ole qb ain't gonna cut it, even in the Belt.

I agree. We're certainly not all that. What G5 program is? I've been around long enough to know that these things go in cycles. We're on a decent roll right now, but it doesn't take much to go from hero to goat in the world of college football. Just look at UCF. From Fiesta Bowl winner to winless in just two years.

At the same time, you've got to admit that our "average" play over that time span has been good enough to completely dominate ULL. What does that say about ULL's program? And yes, QB is a huge question mark for us next year. We've just got to hope that we've got one of our young guns ready. We'll see.

No, what I find funny is that a fanbase with the habit of telling others they're Tier 1 (on athletic message boards no less) struggle so much with the English language.

Have I ever argued otherwise?

You ask what it says about the Cajun program yet your record against us is your most often quoted stat on these boards as though it's really supposed to impress everyone.

I've followed the Cajun program since 1971 so I know as well as anyone how much suckage we've endured. We're finally making some progress but progress isn't the end of the journey by any means. We've got a long long long way to go. What has me excited though is how much we've accomplished in just a few short years.

I went to my first LA Tech game in 1969, so like you, I have seen everything from some pretty good teams, to some pretty horrible teams. I only point out our record against you guys because you're constantly bringing up some unflattering fact about Tech or Ruston. You're as sensitive about that Tech/ULL record as you accuse me of being about my hometown.

I would say Tech is a mid to upper G5 team. We don't lose very often to teams that are historically lower level in their conference, and we split 50/50 with the top tier teams (Houston, Fresno St, Nevada, Tulsa, UCF, Southern Miss, etc...). Boise has been dominating us for a while though. I just looked up our record against MAC and Sun Belt teams since 1989 and we are 39-6-1. (4 of those 6 were those Cajun teams with Delhomme and Stokely).

As I said, As the years go, so does the spelling. Not something I worry about too much because I have someone to do that for me where it counts. I don't have a secretary proofreading a sports message board. But I guess it's typical of ULL, who uses attendance smack to use spelling smack. Well since your team isn't in a bowl and all.

Take a deep breath ATLDawg and re-read your posts here. They represent in capsule form why so many who aren't related with LahTech athletics find you guys to be such pompous asses.

We not only get told repeatedly about your school's prestige and Tier 1 rating, you (and another Tech fan) have informed us of your personal wealth, as in "my spelling isn't very good but I know how to count money", or "he has someone to count his money for him", or "I don't worry about it too much because I have someone to do it for me when it counts".

Guess what? No one gives a rat's ass about how important or successful you are in business. There are posters here from all walks of life who care about one thing, athletics. The general theme in these threads is that you Tech guys tend to be an arrogant and insuffereable bunch and you're doing your part to continue the tradition.

As for the subject of attendance, while I agree it doesn't hold the weight of on-the-field-performance and is generally a weak smack subject, I believe that any program that cannot get butts in the stands will eventually suffer the consequences. From that standpoint I think it's a valid topic of discussion under the right conditions.

One thing Ruston had in 1969 was the NFL's number 1 draft choice of that year playing at LA Tech. Unless I'm mistaken, that would have been about the same time that ULL Men's BB program received the death penalty for cheating, wouldn't it?

And what you call facts are nothing more than childish barbs that can be made toward any city in America. Your constant obsession with everything about Ruston and LA Tech is merely evidence of your envy of LA Tech. I'm sure those attacks against Ruston and LA Tech will only worsen if the NCAA decides to lower the boom on ULL for yet another cheating scandal. You're bound to find a way to blame somebody other than the buffoons running that that train wreck in Lafayette.

I've mentioned this before but I married a techie from Ruston. I honestly never understood the attendance smack talk. They're literally in a town of maybe 20k while Lafayette is in a metro area of what? 200k? Didn't UL only have attendance of 500-600 more then tech this year? Considering the size differential, y'all should put a substantial amount more butts in seats than tech. The attendance talk just doesn't make sense to me.

I guess that's why you enlarged that stadium to show us all that Southern and McNeese travels well. Just another moronic ULL move to try to make themselves feel better. Yes ULL brought more to New Orleans. I grew up in Acadiana. When it comes to needling an excuse to drink and party Cajuns will always show up. But answer me this. Why do u bring 40k to New Orleans but never get much more than 20k in your own stadium? Clearly your fan base cares more about a party than they care about your team. You should own the entire Acadiana area. It's all in driving distance. You only brought 25k against a Tech team that you couldn't wait to finally beat last year. We had almost 28k in Ruston against you. You guys show wel for the big party. Congrats on proving what Cajuns really find important. I am a Cajun. I am proud that we know how to have a good time. But don't pretend you have such great football support. You will find the answer in Baton Rouge where most Acadiana fans are on game day.
