It is good NIU was up - However, we need to find a way to grow that more! I would love to understand the split between the Saturday games and the weeknight games. I would focus on the Saturday games and see how much that attendance changed.

exactly. this is tough to compare to other schools when up to half of our home games are on week nights. #maction is fun on tv, but i'd love to be able to go to the games.

Sat

UNLV: 15455 *WE KNOW THIS IS WRONG* We had many more in attendance than vs Murry St.

Murry ST: 17465

Ball St: 13535 *wasn't this one of the few cases where the students really didn't show up well at all?*

EMU (Homecoming): 17245

Weeknight games

WMU: 10194

Ohio: 9755

Also tough to compare when:

2) Half the schools lie about there actual numbers...

+1 The actual numbers are useless for comparing NIU to any other schools. We can look at the +/- from the season average between different schools and that is about it.

Within our numbers there is a very typical NIU attendance story...

Home opener does well but not as well on Labor Day weekend vs Wk 2.

Any FCS home game if not the home opener does not do well
*Athletics really improved the numbers here from what was historically typical*

The game before Homecoming does not do well.

Homecoming does well.

Now, now. It's not NW's fault they didn't have UW, UM, OSU, UN or MSU slated at home this year.

And let's not forget, no NIU to make up about 1/2 the place in the preseason!

True. Purdue, Minny & PSU doesn't help like those other schools. They did get Iowa which helped.

It's a pro football town and until one of the local teams plays Playoff Football it won't change.
NU's attendance for the Stanford & EIU OOC games which were played before the start of the fall academic quarter, are not far from NIU's season home total.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_North...ball_team. Both teams had a better than expected season especially considering the talent lost due to injury. Huskies get to play in great SD weather and the Wildcats play on New Years Day. Most programs would consider that success

I think the weekday games numbers are down not just because of the time, but also the weather conditions in Nov in Dekalb.

Yep and this November was not bad at all weatherwise but it's not easy sitting through a 3-31/2 game even in 45 degree weather if there is any wind and NU will almost always struggle with at least 2 home games played before the students arrive on campus.

Records for both were better than any reasonable fan could have expected.
