Good news. Huskies won AND you're still correct!

Hate to break this to you but a team NIU played even with for 90% of the game has a smell lead on a top 4 team in the country right now hahha. Got to love those cupcakes :)

Very frustrating to sit through this game. Terrible. Either we learn how to shoot or the MAC will chew us up.

Well some are saying because NIU beat FIU by a small amount , that NIU sucks, that's a pretty small sample size one game.

And congratulations to the Buckeye cream puffs who finish off the 4th ranked Wildcats, lol you just have to love this board

Can anyone tell me why Orris is playing so much? Is he a star or something? If so, where?

+1 the kid is clutch at times but his ability does not warrant his minutes, I agree

So if OSU is 13 pts better than the Huskies (take away 3 from that for home court to give 10 points), and OSU is 7 points better than Kentucky on a neutral floor, I guess we can only conclude Kentucky is 3 pts better than NIU

RE: Florida International @ NIU predictions
Right now I think we are seeing kind of an interesting and potentially problematic issue with NIU. I get a feeling Montgomery wants to pull this team back into a defense first mode and to do that he is relying more on the veterans because that's what they have done while they have been here. That is all fine and dandy except NIU recruited players who do not really fit into that mold or style of play, and unfortunately those are your most talented players. I think Armstead is a great individual example of this, he is caught in between.

Every good team is a defensive first team. NIU easily wins this game if they shoot their normal% from free-throw line! The goal of this team is to play in postseason. 10 more wins and they will be in a CBI type tourney.

Ten more wins, CBI-type tourney. Ten more wins, CBI-type tourney. Ten more wins, CBI-type tourney.

Year five and the program is "learning" how to win. With the schedule so far, would anything less than 8-2 be acceptable?

They have more talent now than they've had in the past.

Was at the game today, they couldn't shoot free throws at all. 19-36, my god. Really, really impressed with Porter. He will get major minutes once Trevon graduates. Key seems to be around the rim all the time, getting clutch boards. Marin is growing each game, needs to stop the hook around offensive foul with his post up move. Got called for two today.

They've been terrible for a decade now. Are you serious? Eureka and Indiana Northwest are joke schools, but they're 6-0 against CS Northridge, South Dakota, Wright State, Idaho, Chicago State, and FIU. There's not a single team in the last decade of NIU basketball that would have gone 6-0 in those games.

Cut it out.

Uni57, I have no idea what your point is. Do you think NIU would be better off right know if they would have fired Monty after year 3 or 4? And no one thought they would be 8-2. No one thought they would even win every game in the NIU Classic.

Forget the record and watch them play. NIU is finally watchable. They have some talent and can run an offense for the first time since I started paying attention in 2006. They're getting better, and it's not merely Huskie koolaid making me say that. I don't care how many years it took.
