OK Sooner Trevor Knight who led them to their Sugar Bowl win over Alabama has been granted an unconditional release for his 5th year.

He may not be looking at NIU but with 6 division titles and a young team that gained alot of experience this year, Knight may want to migrate to a team where he can get on the field quickly.

Carey said that Hare is expected back for Spring Ball and they're even pushing back Spring Ball to make sure he'll be there, I think that tells us what we need to know about the QB situation. It's Hare's gig to lose.

Not good to have all your eggs in one basket. We were fortunate Harnish and Lynch stayed fairly healthy. That luck was part of our success. We were lucky with that.

It should be his gig to lose based on performance but he had a devastating injury so it will be interesting to see if he can come back strong. I am a big Drew Hare fan so I am rooting for his success.

I am Drew Hare fan also, but I agree about putting all your eggs in one basket, especially when talking about players returning from a ruptured Achilles injury. Carey’s comments peaked my interest, and the history of football players returning from a ruptured Achilles injury is hardly encouraging! The average time to return to playing football from a ruptured Achilles is 11 months, and one article states: “Of the 31 players who sustained an Achilles tendon rupture, 21 (64%) returned to play in the NFL at an average of 11 months after injury. In the three seasons following their return, those 21 players saw significant decreases in games played and power ratings compared to the three seasons preceding the injury.”

I hope Drew Hare is back in the spring and comes back 100%. However, I don’t think counting on that and pushing spring ball back for Drew Hare’s return sounds like a good idea!

For those interested, these 2 links are pretty typical of the articles.

Were ifs, ands, plus buts, candy and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas.
Seriously, do you just like to pull crap out of thin air, toss it and see if it sticks? The kid is from San Antonio, TX; signed with OU after having offers from Baylor, Clemson, LSU, Oklahoma State, Texas Christian, Texas A&M and Texas Tech, but you think he should be considering NIU where all three quarterbacks return. Stick to sugar plums unless you know there is a magical recruiting connection to NIU: an OU girlfriend from Naperville, an influential uncle from Mendota, a high school coach whose collegiate roommate is on the Huskie staff? Better yet, why don't you follow him on Twitter, become best buddies and let him know you've got a scholarship waiting for him.

Would not be surprised to see Trevor Knight in Ann Arbor. Jake Rudok leaves after one season and knight would fit in perfectly.

Lighten up Francis.

Clemson does not need a qb as their Heisman finalist is only a Soph. A&M may be getting rid of their HC because he can't hold onto QB's. The other programs may not want him now because he's turned them down before.

NIU has several players from Texas.

He won't come here. He called me and told me that he wouldn't until we dropped the directional name and renamed it "University of Trevor Knight"

It's a law of the sports internet. A kind of offshoot of how every time a pro player who had any notoriety gets waived or released on any given team forum someone has to ask about picking them up.

03-thumbsup

Well, this one at least makes sense. From a B12 school to a future B12 school.
