If Pastner were to cure cancer and destroy ISIS tomorrow people would beotch because he did not do it yesterday.
Of course he won't cure cancer or destroy ISIS. And he probably won't beat many teams with talent equal to ours this year. But keep jumping from thread to thread with your nonsensical defenses of our coach.
The nonsense is on your part, after all he can't coach or recruit as well as the wannabe coaches on this forum can. The Tigers are winning because the other teams are crappy. Your favorite team well be here Friday, you can root for them.
Well, he does have a valid point. Do the break-down of JP's wins by RPI and get back to us.
Thank you RekeHavoc.
You know, when Josh's teams were 0 and 13 or whatever the number was before he beat a top 25 team, it was easy to make that point.
But now he is like 4 and 27 or something. Does anyone even know the correct number anymore? And it's so depressing that who even wants to keep up with it, so it's harder to make the point.

Well, right now I can not offer an educated opinion of how much Josh has improved or not, since I have tuned him out for the last couple of years.
Does he still talk in generalities and repeat himself a lot? Not a lot of depth to what he says in his interviews?

Even with all that's been said, what fault do you find with these kids? Screw the coach, I'm talking about this year's team.

I, for one, actually like this year's team better than most. For the most part, I like what I see out of Dedric (obviously), Markel, Tarrant, TB. I'm also intrigued by Martin. This team is definitely providing effort. I just still see some AAU ball out there at times. I'm cautiously optimistic, but I'm reserving judgment until we get into conference play. I do like that we seem to be making an effort to drive the ball and pick up fouls. I was hoping we would have done more of that when we had the 4 kings.

Agree on the Lawson's. Without them, we'd be in deep. Josh needs to thank his lucky stars.
Not sure about Chandler. His size is impressive. he can do reverse dunks in warmups. I wasn't totally impressed with his game, but he's still got a long way to go. He's got the most important attribute, which is genes.
Dedric is only Lawson to make substantial contribution so far and he has freshman flaws-such as 2-10? shooting last game and 5 turnovers. So don't say they have saved him.

I'm with you on that statement, I wish that coach had used the same offense when he had Joe, but the games where officiated differently then. A hand check would have stopped Joe in his tracks. But I'm basically speaking to those that are penalizing these kids because of the past. We're going to fool around and let Ol Miss have the home court advantage on our home court. Oh yeah, that'll show these kids what we think about them. They're not perfect, but dang man, they are hustling and scrapping. They, not coach, deserve better.

Dedric turned 18 in October - that's a fact.
We've known about the Lawson's for years, not sure what your point is.
Well first, you seem to be a jerk, I was not claiming no one knew about the Lawson's. I simply was stating that they are winners and young, I think they stick around for a little bit because they are a tight knit group. So that's something to go to games and support. And thanks for the birth date clarification, I don't know why you had to bring that up NOT SURE WHAT YOUR POINT IS.

Maybe if you are going to end your message with "That's a fact jack..", then your first "fact" should be true. Just a thought for you "to ponder on".

My favorite grocery store's owner hired an idiot for a manager. Their aisles may be arranged in alphabetical order one day and by size of product the next -- there's no consistancy. Some days they're out of milk, bread, AND beer. I never know what to expect, and they can't even beat Mapco's prices.
All that said, I guess I'm still going to shop there since it's my favorite store, and I don't want the stock boys to think I'm mad at 'em.

I think we would've driven for more fouls if they were calling the rules the same now as they were then .

It is comical, but face it, Josh is a goofy one. That was ok early on, but I find it irritating at this point.
Mike Norvell's only been a head coach for 2 weeks, so if Josh is still learning after over 6 years on the job I don't think he'll ever get it down.

I guess to wrap this thread up, all that I can say is continue to not show up and not support these young men that have chosen to wear Tiger Blue because for the past years, I don't like the coach. This year's team is showing more fight and grit and most of the other teams. There were individual players that had grit, Geron, Mike D, DJ, and a few others, but these young guys scrap. Your analogy about the grocery store is ok, but what if the owner had improved, but I guess that you would not know because in the past, he didn't do it. I'm through with trying to ask fans to support the young men, but email the powers that be concerning your displeasure. The Georgia fans wanted Their football coach gone, but 45% of the fans didn't stay away from the games, but I get it, this is Memphis.

I really don't see that this team plays any harder than any other team we've had here. Geron played hard, DJ played hard. Nobody in the history of basketball played harder than Will Barton. This team just has a better guard in Tarrant than what they had last year. The fact that there are only 8 guys that can really be justified in getting playing time makes the chemistry better.

This happens every year under pastner. Every year. Start playing teams with a pulse and see what happens.
The only difference this year is that nobody is showing up for games. That's huge and speaks volumes.

I apologize for poking fun at you as "A Clueless Memphis Fan" because I don't think you are. Let me just ask you one question -- how many so-called Pastner haters have told you or anybody else on here to stay home from the games?
This country is great for a lot of reasons, but one of the biggest ones is that we have freedom. As long as it isn't against the law, it's pretty much up to you what you do with your time, your money, whatever.
If I had your perspective, maybe I would be a little annoyed at all the people who have a different perspective expressing their displeasure with Josh. But it's not my place to tell someone else how to be a fan.
Hopefully, a time will come again when we can ALL agree we have a good coach and save our piss and vinegar for the opponents. That day can't come quickly enough for a whole bunch of us.
