I'm talking about season ticket holders not showing up. I realize the climate we line in today. We should be a earning 6k a game by seasons end. If we want to be a big time program we need to stop making excuses not to hinting amendable start making excuses to go to games.

We don't have a large enough fan base to consistently sell out Bartow. But we do have a large enough one to put 6k in the building consistently. We all realize it does matter to the average joe on the street Who we play. It should not matter to season ticket holders. If you have a ticket show up.

We have an attendance problem and the first place we need to looking in the mirror.

If all of you want a better conference go to games. Our attendance will attract the sun belt at best right now.

Have you got a hold to some bad pot Smaug? Of course this conference is much worse than what it use to be. Much much worse.

You are stating the obvious. We all know it's worse. Show up to games. Stop making excuses. Show up.

Yes, I know that. I said ATTENDANCE isn't that much worse.

While people are botching about the schedule and not going to games I have gone and witnessed some exciting games. Sure I wish we had a home schedule of LSU North Carolina creighton butler Illinois state. But we don't. If we want in a better league we need butts in the seats.

Buy several billboards and place them all over the city with the catch phrase, "Stop Making Excuses, Show Up!"

Posting here isn't going to get you anywhere. As far as the season ticket holders go, they buy tickets for several reasons:

1. To see a good product.
2. To see a good game against decent opponents.
3. Support the program.

Whew, glad I was able to get that off my chest.

It bears repeating that the only way UAB is going to improve attendance is to relocate because Birmingham is never going to support basketball. It doesn't matter what conference we are in. When we had Louisville Cincinnati and Memphis in the conference, the average wasn't much better. They only showed up for those games, but didn't show for the Marquettes, South Floridas and ECU's. Now we don't have those occasional sell outs to balance out the average.

We couldn't even sellout for North Carolina or when we honored the memory of Gene Bartow. I was at both games and saw the empty seats. Embarrassing

From an attendance standpoint, it doesn't matter what conference we are in. Birmingham is never going to support basketball.

In order to get in a better league we need football to become successful so we can move into a better league. Football does drive the bus.

Those choices were not in the season ticket check list. I support the program and competition is irellivent in my decision making again would I like to see a better schedule. Sure. If you are not going to games because of who we are playing I feel sorry for you. I enjoy watching the Blazers play. I am looking forward to the Hiwassii game because I want to see the Frenchman and Love get some PT.

I also realize preaching here only teaches the poem that post hear and not our entire fan base.

I bought 10 football season tickets not knowing who we are playing other than CUSA. Using your logic I should not have purchased tickets.

I agree football drives the bus but they do look at your entire program and basketball needs to be successful.

Ummmm, let me direct you to Tulane, SMU, USF, ECU, and Houston who all had suck basketball programs with less than stellar attendance and still manage to get into the AAC. It's proven you don't need a successful basketball program to get into a better all sports conference if you have a good football program, in a desirable TV market, or both.
