I wish we had as much time on our hands as some of you seem to...and as much disposable income. If it had been a 6 hr drive or so I'd totally be there. But AT LEAST 12 hours is not doable. That's a whole day of driving EACH WAY. Hopefully next year!

RE: UCF Fiesta Bowl Tickets
Ucf has done great for the most part traveling to big games. They expected over 20k at the sugar bowl if ucf made it instead of the Fiesta Bowl. We brought over 10k to Ireland for crying out loud. How many g5 can pull that off? Maybe 5 at most?

There were limited flights from Orlando to Phoenix. These available were all over $600-700 bucks with stops. Driving was a realistic option. Boise State to Phoenix is doable on the road.

Go when you have the chance. Being in the G5 leaves us without many of these opportunities.

Drive it...nothing beats watching your school in a big time bowl game.

A medium sized market like Boise on short notice doesn't yield fantastic bargains...what Boise does is pretty friggin impressive.

That would be the same as UCF fans driving en masse to Morgantown, WV

BTW, SWA is not as cheap as it used to be...just saying.

LOL!!! You still can't resist UCF threads!!

People in cold weather places (i.e. like Idaho and other states up North) go to Phoenix/Scottsdale every day during the winter time...football game or no football game.

Driving in the dead of winter from Orlando to WV? Thankfully, that need will never ever rise.

He genuinely dislikes ucf because some of our fans were braggadocious after the fiesta bowl win, and often cites tradition triumphing over newbees. I was just shocked he has the Internet way back in 1965.

Well, Phoenix is not Morgantown. It's a major vacation destination and major metropolis with a major airport that is a hub for two airlines. It'd be more like UCF having big time attendance at a bowl game in DC if there was a major bowl game there.

I think we'd do pretty solid there if it was a BCS bowl. Of course, it ignores that you're going in the wrong direction weather-wise.

I was just comparing driving distance...using Morgantown.

Very strange comparison indeed.

They were each 900 miles...trying to give the easterners the scope of the distance Boise Fans drove.

What's wrong with kids these days? Didn't you read "On The Road"?

It's 800 miles to Atlanta from Houston. That's like driving to El Paso. I did that plus a couple more hours to Silver City NM over Thanksgiving weekend. 900 miles, 14 hours each way. Done it a dozen times over the last few years. I did all the driving. Now that I have a kid I can even do it without cigarettes.

Twelve hours ain't bad at all. Leave the house after breakfast at 7 am, you're there at 7 pm, in time for dinner. Or do it like us pros, take a couple hour nap after work, get up and drive overnight, and you're there before noon and have most of the day left.

The secret is good tunes, pork rinds/chicharrones, beef jerky...And methamphetamines. :-) Also helps to enjoy the scenery.

Maybe if they throw in some Ginsu knives with the grill that will help?

I just checked SW Airlines, it's about $320 - $350 each way from Houston to ATL. Not cheap.

I'm doing the roadie, just cause that's how I roll. If it's on this continent, I drive. I even drove back from the Bahamas in a bitchin Camaro.

I don't like to fly. Not out of fear, but out of hatred for the whole process. I'd much rather drive 12 hours in the comfort of my own car than fly 3 hours (plus the couple of hours on each end of the flight at the airport, on the runway, in baggage claim, in security, etc.).

I actually enjoy the flying part, it's the other BS that kills me.

I got tickets on Delta for $300 a piece out of Love Field - and given that I live in Dallas, it's a win!

Could have flown for free - I travel for a living - but my buddy booked our flights before I could say anything. Super cheap to get to ATL from Dallas vs Houston.

Depends when you fly to get those prices....throw in the motel, restaurants, tickets, rental car, souvenirs, parking at airport and game, etc...you'll be over $1000 real quick.
