UCA pregame
They are at 1-7. Since we played them they have fallen on hard times, getting blistered by Oklahoma and Pitt. As a result, some of their stats look horrible. Opponents shoot 53% overall and 45% from the arc against them. They are -5 on the boards.

They do still shoot 34.6% from the arc, and have a very nice 1.46 A/TO ratio.

Sagarin picks us by 25. Oddly enough, RealtimeRPI has UCA winning by 5.

RE: UCA pregame
We can't overlook anyone. Our women came out totally flat against Tulsa, and scored 40 points in the second half, but it still wasn't enough to win. Got to get off the blocks fast and not allow UCA to think they might win the game.

RE: UCA pregame
This game makes me a little nervous. On the road, in-state rival, against a team that played us tough and has had something like 10 days to prepare for us. If we take this one lightly we might get beat.

RE: UCA pregame
I doubt that the team will take it lightly. They know that UCA played them tough in LR, and if by chance they did consider it an automatic win, I'll guarantee that Coach Beard won't. Every coach has faced this situation at one time or another. He'll have them ready to play. But, I suspect that UCA doesn't need a big pep talk before the game to get ready either. I doubt that our players think that they can just show up and beat another D-1 team, even one that isn't real good at the moment. I'll guarantee you I don't feel like it's an automatic win. I saw UCA play us off our feet at home before we finally nailed it down.

UCA pregame
I like the content of UCA's article. Shows how close the first game was.

RE: UCA pregame
The teams that will give us trouble are those who are having a hot night from the three point arc. UCA's Jordan Howard is a really good shooter who hit some against us in Little Rock, and kept the game closer than it probably would have been without his shooting. Got to keep him under control tonight, and rebound UCA's first shot. No second chances allowed. If we do that, we should win without too big a problem. But anything can happen, so I'm not counting on a blowout. Just a good solid win will be acceptable.

RE: UCA pregame
Trojans play better on the road. If we win it will be by a better margin than what we did at the Jack.
