didn't we break the single season record and average almost 44,000 people?

Hense, "fickle."

If Memphis goes 5-7 next year, the avg attendance will be in the high 20's.

We like to trick or treat more than going to ball games

Football or basketball, the fans have to go to the game expecting to win. That's what was different this year. If that continues, the sky is the limit and the opposition becomes less important. This was the first year in my memory that I expected we would beat anyone on the schedule. And I am class of '66.

Even with our recent success this is definitely an important juncture in Tiger football.

I am hoping for the best.

Anyway, back to the meat of the point here. Was this Pat Forde?

Sure, it's hard to say just how good of a hire is of any person so young without prior HC experience, but he's really reaching if he thinks it's a negative against this program that we chose him over Odom. The hire has been met with much enthusiasm in the non-local sports media.

Yea, Forde. Sorry should have posted the link.

Yep. We seemed to have things going in the right direction back in the day with DeAngelo and crew, but then we regressed. It might be more important this time to keep the positive momentum going.

It was Forde and I think he put all new HC's with no experience in the "TBD" category.

We actually have a group of hard core fans (around 15k?) who patiently suffered though listless and catastrophic seasons. My hat is off to them. 04-bow

Thanks for the tip of the hat.

RE: Yahoo's take on Coaching Winners and Losers
Well a fickle fanbase, Memphis may have. But fickle fans do buy merchandise, tickets, etc. which in turn helps the school. So Im ok with fickle fans, because the school needs them. They only way to get them to come out is to play P5 games or have winning seasons, which is what we want anyways. We arent Bama or Ohio st who can sell out a stadium, when they have a 5-7 season while playing a FCS team.

Tommy got lazy. You would have thought dozens of good running backs and QBs would want to play in that system. We didn't recruit any after DW2
