Good effort by Ohio, especially with backups at QB the entire game. Appy State's D was just too much.

RE: Camellia Bowl
yeah it is really hard right now for me to come up with any positive as I am severely depressed. but I think once I have had a chance to digest this, I will realize we opened as a double-digit underdog and almost pulled off a big win over a highly underrated opponent. it's just losing that 17 point lead that will hurt for a long time. sorry, MAC guys, that we couldn't hang on. I wish the other six teams the best of luck!

I feel your pain. It is tough to come so very close to what would have to be considered a significant win by a underdog and then watch it slip away in an instant. There is little consolation in moral victories either because "moral victories" always show up the L column and are soon forgotten by everyone except the victims (i.e., the moral victors).

thanks! I think suffering a blow-out loss is sometimes easier to handle than suffering a last-second loss in which you held a 17 point second half lead.
oh well! like I said, the best of luck to all six remaining MAC teams! GO GET 'EM!

17 point lead heading into the 4th quarter.
Ohio can never get over the hump in big games.

Less than 10 yards 1st Q by Ohio (who got the ball first).
Then over 100 yards 2nd Q by Ohio. So yes, that + DOMINATING App on D to get a pick 6 and a setup of the superior offense of 2nd Q to score another TD. :)
Please, Ohio earned only 6 of their points, App's D dominated this game.

Obviously their offense didn't then. How much did they win by?

Didn't see the game but this is the dumbest comment ever. They don't just give you points for showing up. You earn every point in every game.

OK, fine, when your defender catches a ball thrown directly to him with no App players around at all and runs it in with no App pursuit, he 'earned' his pick-6.

Ohio earned every point they got, and so did App. If the other team does something stupid, the points are still earned. If the other team was better they wouldn't have made such stupid play, and it goes for both teams.

I realize this is your team's first FBS bowl win ever so you probably don't know how to react. Once you get a bit of experience under your belt perhaps you will learn to kick back and enjoy a win for what it is and not feel compelled to try to also win some unimportant p1ssing contest-----the win on the field is what is important, not some post game debate.

Sounds like good positioning to me.
The thing is, you can't leverage a 2 point win into a bigger point win by saying that the opposition O only earned 6 of their points ...
... either their defense earned the other points, or your offense gave those points away.
But in the first case, its a team sport and it still counts as points to the opposition team, and in the second case, your O giving points away reduces their net haul of points by exactly the same number as you reduce the point you credit to the opposition.
And while you didn't cover the spread, it doesn't really matter in the long term ... it goes down in the books as a bowl win, and ten or twenty years from now, it'll be the same as if you won by 20.

Ohio's senior starting QB never got into the game even when the 2nd string QB went down. After the game OU's beat righter tweeted that Solich said in teh presser that Vick hurt his knee in practice this week and didn't trust playing on it. Vick replied to the tweet with- "lies.smh".
something isnt right and I'm not happy about it. Bobcats win with Vick under center.

RE: Camellia Bowl
I watched a few bowl games yesterday. All were very well attended.
Appy State turned out. The Vegas bowl sold out. N. Mexico bowl had a home team and that game drew well.
Nice to see interest in the so-called early, minor bowls.

^^ I agree, great turnouts and some very enjoyable games.
Congrats Ohio on a fantastic game, and turning mid-season adversity into a good season and hopefully we can meet again.
