We need to keep these good paying jobs. Not sure if $35 a barrel will help but gotta try everything to keep this industry afloat.

Well, as you know the market is flooded with cheap oil. While I'm all for lifting the export ban I don't know why anyone would think it would help us.

The only thing that will help preserve our oil industry over the long term is higher prices.

Our oil is much better than the sludge in the middle east. It is sweet crude which is easier to refine. Why should U.S. businesses always have one hand tied behind their backs when competing with foreign companies.

FYI, Saudi Arabia and OPEC is trying to crush our fracking industry. This is the whole reason our economy has been growing at all. These are good paying jobs not service jobs.

Really? Providing others with our excess supply and we receive capital in return to invest in capital equipment creating jobs. Maybe, maybe thats a good idea?

In fact that is what productivity is about, providing someone a product or service that they can not do as well as you can (Producing oil- US Largest producer in world) and they give you money and you purchase products you dont do as well.

The money received from oil exports will also be used to provide tax credits to wind, solar and other forms of alternative energy sources, which, unlike oil, are not self-sufficient and depend on oil revenues to survive. Everyone should be happy with this deal: the productive as well as the academics.

Also, We have the supply so our allies (England, France, Germany, etc.) would have a more stable source of oil and natural gas than relying on the middle east and Russia.
