A G-5 coach jumping to another G-5 school simply isnt likely to happen unless a special situation occurs. Why in the world would they hire the OC at Duke is puzzling. Must be a connection somewhere with the AD and this guy.

It has more to do with the pay with g5 vs p5. I'm not sure what c-Usa make vs the rest of the ncaa. Scott Frost at ucf makes $1.7 million. Assistant totals make $2.3 million.
I think highest paid cusa coach makes 800k.

A wku fan said they were willing to pay brohm up to 1.4 million.

I suspect a handful schools in cusa can afford to pay over a million, but not many.

We paid Fedora > $1,000,000 and I'm thinking that paid off much better than paying Ellis Johnson $800,000. Pretty sure we made up that $200,000 several times over. Of course, people in Hattiesburg aren't really investment - savvy, by and large.

Doc was a finalist for the Pitt job before it was given to the MSU DC. Look it up.

I know for a fact ECU contacted Doc to see if he was interest, and well he wasn't. Im sorry unless you are in the middle to bottom half of the MAC or Sun Belt you aren't losing your HC to another G5 school. Unless: A)That G5 is his dream job 2)The pay can double on a new job (Alas bottom tier of the MAC, Sun Belt). Then begs to the question why anyone would hire them away
Georgia Southern just lost Fritz to Tulane. Fairly certain his pay didn't double but was a significant increase; which GS was trying to negotiate to keep him but talks had stalled. Guess he was planning his exit sooner than reported.
Stupid, stupid move by Fritz. I'm guessing his wife wanted to live in NOLA. Tulane is a career-killer. And GA Southern apparently just gives up the minute anyone even looks at their coach. They lost Jeff Monken to Army, FFS.

Do any of you realize the level the David Cutcliff has brought that program to? They are fairly successful and as long as Cut is there, they will not be dropping down to be the Duke of old. To hire someone from Cutcliff's coaching tree is to lean on a winning pedigree as well as someone who knows how to develop offenses from the quarterback out, as seen at Duke.
