They should fire Strong now. Like it or not it is his presence and the uncertainty of how long it will last that is keeping top coaching candidates from joining that staff

It's too bad that Strong can't just install the option (or pro-style, whichever) and out-athlete the other Big 12 teams. I think it's a mistake for Texas to play the same game as Baylor/TCU/Oklahoma State. That offense was designed for teams with talent disparities to stay with more talented teams. Texas should be using their muscle.. and using Strong's last name to market it. If they play basketball on turf, they are setting themselves up to be a middling team.

Yeah, gotta think they don't want to be tied to a coach that may not survive next year. Love Charlie though, he'll land on his feet likely in the P5 if he does get fired.

Honestly, I just think it is hilarious that Gilbert turned down Texas once and they had to go through all of the effort to fly Strong, their AD and their president out to get the deal done. Wish we could have kept Mattox, he is going to be a good OC down the line.
