But you'd be with UAB, Tech, and Southern Miss. <3

Just go Ivy League and don't look back. You'll see a tear in Paydirt Pete's eye if you do.

16 would work this time. Take the 4 Texas schools from CUSA and bump Utah st and boise to the west. Everyone is happy. Dont know if the 4 CUSA Schools would be interested but it would work

With basketball crapping the bed, there is less and less incentive for UTEP to want to stay.

I hope the league's leadership is smart enough to stay at 12 if they do leave at some point. At this point let the TV money be whatever the TV money is going to be. We can make more revenue if we do well in football and correct this basketball quagmire.

If it happens, I will personally come back to suggest NMSU and Idaho for CUSA membership.

That way we can solve each others problems all quick like...see.

The only question that comes to mind is, Why?

Rice/UTEP offer little to the MWC other than to split a small pie more ways.

The MWC offers little to Rice/UTEP that they don't already get in CUSA.

The MW offers little to Rice/UTEP----unless the CUSS tv negotiations are going badly. Then, the MW might offer quite a bit of an improvement.

If this does happen ad we stay at 12, then I don't see a way to keep WKU and MT together without playing geographic hopscotch.

We'd be in a very tough position geographically.

Not really. Just bring UAB back to the East and send WKU and MTSU west.

WEST - UNT, UTSA, LTU, USM, WKU, MTSU
EAST - MU, ODU, UNCC, UAB, FAU, FIU

The geography would work out really nice that way.

If they want them, they can have them IMO.

Not a single negative sentiment to any of those schools.

Anything that makes C-USA more geographically concise is a plus.

Playing in Florida every year is a huge priority for MT (as it is for many east teams), so that adds another layer to the problem. Keeping WKU on the schedule every year is probably more important though.

UAB wants to be with USM though, so very not solved. With twelve we could have a permanent cross-division rival.

Since UAB/USM and WKU/MTSU are essentially in the center of the league there really isn't a good way to split them up then. Somebody loses a rival. WKU/MTSU is a much longer running rivalry than UAB/USM.

Maybe Hawaii is leaning toward dropping football so they need a replacement?

UTEP I'd expect. Rice...yikes, will you just commit to a bigger budget so you can run with the other big schools? Nobody understands why you don't just do it already. YOU COULD STAMP YOUR TICKET MOST ANYWHERE.

Really doubt it since they just hired a new HC.

It gets even more screwed up in only UTEP leaves. UAB comes back and we are again stuck at 13. That's when the pimping would really begin. If they both leave CUSA can stay at 12 and all is good, not that I am rooting for that.

No pimping needed. Add Georgia State and throw them out west as travel companion for UAB. 03-wink

Yes, you have a history and you left it because you didn't like the travel.
