Chip Lindsey to ASU as OC, and Other Acronyms
That's the word at EaglePost.net. Smells like BS to me; CCL has supposedly turned down a couple of crappy FBS HC jobs and maybe even an onfield job at UGA.

Arizona State: Southern Miss offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey will be the new offensive coordinator at Arizona State, per Sports Illustrated. Lindsey passed on an offer to become head coach at Eastern Kentucky earlier this week. Lindsey served as OC / QBs at Southern Miss the past two seasons. He served as an offensive analyst at Auburn in 2013 and was head coach at Spain Park HS (Alabama) before that.

So was the UGA thing just media speculation?

Not a huge problem for USM, unless Mullens regresses or something. At this point, hopefully he knows the drill. Good luck CCL!

I'm just wondering what we'll do for the bowl game and going forward. I assume Monken has people he knows and wants already. This can't be coming as a surprise to him.

Honestly, I'm just happy we kept Monken this year. I know it'll be a long hard road next year, but we have the chance to win the conference and maybe do something special. It's not often that that's the case.

Tip of the old fedora to Nick Mullens for all he seems to have done for Coach Lindsey's career... student of the week 03-lmfao.

Chip Lindsey to ASU as OC, and Other Acronyms
I wonder who Monk will try to get ? I'm really shocked that he would leave..of course, it's a high paying job but with his high school QB coming back, and the possible season we can have next year.....the opputunities just seem greater for him to stay at USM after another successful season.

when the budgeting of ours is what it is????

he's going to make more than monk's base if I'm hearing things correctly......

it's the new revolving door of success.....either get used to it and never be surprised, or give a few MMs to the annual coaching budget.....

Every school has this problem. Monken knows the game now. The 2016 season holds a lot of promise, so the program is an easy sell.

John Wozniak will take over the oc duties for the bowl game. Very possible he takes over perm after. We will be in good shape.

He's doing the same job, with better resources, and almost 3X the salary he was making here, in Arizona.

Can't blame him on that.
