The Big Xavier game and who will win.
Xavier. Xavier. Xavier.

All I hear is about Xavier.

Xavier this. Xavier that. People tell me that they think Xavier will beat Cincinnati.

Well let me say this. OK?

LET ME SAY THIS.

The road to the championship runs through Cincinnati. And when I say that the road to the championship runs through Cincinnati, that means that Xavier is not going to beat Cincinnati. It means that Cincinnati will be the lord and master of basketball that it is and destroy Xavier with beating. Xavier cannot and will not beat Cincinnati.

Cincinnati will crush Xavier. Break them in half.

I hope this is understood. Do not tell me that Xavier will beat Cincinnati.

Because it will not happen.

The road to the championship runs through Cincinnati. Cincinnati.

I'm confused, Duane!

Xavier is in Cincinnati. Cincinnati is in Cincinnati. The road to the championship runs through Cincinnati. I guess it depends on which road you take? Thank God for traffic updates at the top and bottom of the hour.

I'm Not saying this is your point but I think uc fans have continued to overreact to the butler game.

I've never understood how every loss has to be an indictment on your team. Two teams play and there are a lot of factors that go in every time you take the floor. I saw nothing against butler that lessened my opinion of this team. We controlled much of the game but got a bad second half whistle and a very good team had some big time shot making. Hat tip for Butler for masking tough shots. I thought uc made some huge plays down the stretch offensively but just cane up short that night. I'm still very confident going forward and think two elite eight caliber teams take the floor Saturday

The only good thing that was ever in Norwood was the Auto Safety Inspection Lane. If your car was a bit suspect you took it to Norwood to pass inspection rather than the Cincinnati (on Central Parkway in Clifton).

If you did not had a Safety Sticker the Po Po gave you a ticket.

I can't blame the refs for the loss, even though I agree there were a lot of bad calls and non-calls. Like the cliche goess: Good teams find a way to win. Look at the football team in 2008 when we beat Hawaii. The refs were clearly favoring Hawaii with their calls, but we found a way to win.

I have to say, we got beat by Butler, or maybe we beat ourselves.

It's Not about "blaming the refs". It was a factor. My point is you can play good basketball AND still lose. I thought uc played well [not perfect] against butler, but the bad whistle, too many turnovers, and some great butler shot making resulted in a 2 point loss to a very good team.

Mark - I tend to agree normally, but on the radio after the Butler game Mick was hammering the team on their toughness. Basically saying: I know what's about to come and you guys are going to get run off the court against teams if you keep up this effort. Heck, they looked uninterested in the second half of the Morgan St game, and Mick said as much afterwards.

They have to play tougher. I think they had like 6 deflections in the entire second half against Butler. They do that on Saturday, and look out.

With that said, I hope he gets the point across. They played alright against Butler; definitely could have been a better effort, though. Their talent almost won out.

The refs were definitely a factor. Anyone questioning that needs to see an optometrist. Good teams realize they are getting jobbed, focus, and make sure they put the game out of reach of the officials.

Yup. Two weeks ago the Bengals were on the verge of collapse. Beat the Browns and the Rams and suddenly ESPN falls back in love
