No offense intended other than the fact that you are the newest and therefore probably the weakest team in the east. I am sure Sunbelt teams loved playing WKU back when we were transitioning and were a sure win. Of course we miss USM in the west which is a real positive for us.

Really? You do realize you play in an extremely weak conference and your problem is your schedule isn't strong enough. WKU just won 11 games and barely made the top 25, and you think it sucks because you don't have what you consider the weakest team in the conference on your schedule. 01-wingedeagle You should be complaining because your schedule is too weak. Personally, I hope every team in the conference improves next year. I'm not trying to slam anyone - we were part of the problem the last 3 years. But we should all want every team to improve. 04-cheers

Wow next seasons schedule is going to suck......HOme games vs. North TExas, RIce, ODU, and FIU and road games vs. Marshall, MTSU, La. TEch and FAU! Really CUSA? You have to admit we have gotten 0 favors as far as our schedule goes, 3rd year in a row!

Here we go again, man I had thought your ego would have shrunk a little after this past off season...

Dude, we got La Tech, MUTS and Marshall (and, ultimately, Southern Miss) all at home this season. We shouldn't be complaining about the league schedule.

Just seems lazy is all flipping exact schedules around.....Should split Marshall and MTSU up each season to even it out a little...Also sucks not playing Southern Miss in regular season and Charlotte ever....

just the other day i wrote out a schedule for the entire conference (including OOC) matching up schools that haven't played each other in a while...got everyone covered, made everything equalized looking back two years...total time it took me to make the schedule 45 minutes, by hand. Alone with a pencil 45 minutes and the doofs at conference HQ just lazily mirror the 2015 schedule...bogus

Take it for what it is, considering I'm a Marshall alumni, but I tend to have lower expectations than most of the fanbase (expected 8-4 regular season this year). I'd say we have legitimate shots to beat anyone on next season's schedule, but would expect us to hit 9-3.

Next season's schedule is much tougher, with the Louisville and Pitt games being mostly 50/50 IMO (better chance of beating Louisville at home than Pitt, even though they don't really have a home field advantage to speak of, although Pitt is on the upswing). I'd say we have a higher-than-average chance of beating Middle Tennessee at home, a slightly lower chance (although higher than 50%) of beating a Doughty-less WKU at home, and our toughest challenge will be Southern Miss on the road. Mullens is the real deal.

Marshall has a real shot to win CUSA East each year with this coaching staff and recruiting approach. I'd say the key measuring stick for success in our program now is to be #1 or #2 in the division. If we don't have a shot at CUSA East in the last 2-3 weeks of the season, that's a clear disappointment. I'd like to see WKU maintain their success and for that last game of the season to always end up deciding CUSA East, but Middle Tennessee should have a shot on any given year, as well.

And got 11 wins out of it... Yes, a lot of those were at home, but everyone has to make sacrifices until we get UAB back on the football field.

You can't get a favorable deal every year. (hell, try dealing with the fact we FINALLY got Mississippi State AT Hattiesburg after how many years? )

Uh...

Yes Marshall is undefeated against MT in Huntington with the humongous sample of 1 year.

Oh and that 1 year you had your best team in what a decade and a half at least?

Eh, don't read too much into that PiKapp... Any realistic Herd fan knows damned well that if don't bring our A game, MTSU and WKU could leave Huntington with a win. Louisville, I think we can beat, but they are no Purdue.

I will say this, though. We are a completely different team in Huntington...So it should be a fun season.

The west side scheduling does make very little sense as several La Tech and the Texas schools have mentioned. Of the 4 Texas schools USM hosted 3 last year which means we go there 3 times this upcoming season. At least split up the UTEP/UTSA and North Texas/Rice games where applicable. On another note though the state of Texas was good to USM this past year as we went 5-0 against teams as we also won at Texas St early in the season.

I don't really see how this is going to be easy for the league. The non-conference schedules aren't going to fall into place the exact same way they did this year.

For example, we have a mid-season game against Mizzou in October - the same week we played La Tech. We played all of our non-conf games in Sept and by the the first week of Oct. This is also true for other schools in the league.

So, I don't think it's as simple just plugging the same schedule and flipping who has the @ sign.

Agreed. USM opened up this past season with all 4 OOC games. Next season we play LSU in mid October which usually signals Homecoming opponent.
