RE: Game Week: L'ville
EMU is good, but you guys are being unrealistic. Thompson is a premier talent. Maybe even Lee is close. Bond is somewhere behind Lee. Everyone else has been inconsistent.

This is enough to make EMU competitive. But not against premier teams. I am hoping EMU can keep the game close through the first half. That would be a good sign for this team.

Good share, thanks.

One interesting thing, Murphy was asked how EMU got such a talented player out of Louisianna. The reply was to some extent maintaining national connections. But in the end Thompson "was signing late" and EMU happened to still have an available scholarship in that late period.

I originally thought those late transfer announcements from Samuels and Ajavi were devestating. To the contrary ...

Bob, it would be great but we just do not have the front court depth. I believe we lose by 20 but hopefully we grow and improve. I hope Raven is getting out of the doghouse soon, we need him with Thompson to be superstars the next two years.

Game Week: L'ville
Regardless of the score, I just want to see this team take care of the basketball, take good shots, and shoot well.

L'ville is a fun town. Been there many times. Developed a real fondness for Bourbon there.

Indeed.

I know ('feel') that the staff was very disappointed when Westland John Glenn's recruitment skyrocketed during last year. EMU really, really wanted him.

Then we lost by Ajayi and Samuels and things were looking bleak.

Next I read they were scouting a 6' 10" or 11" kid out of Ohio who was injured most of last year. He had workouts for a few teams but ended up signing late with BG (????).

It looked bleak with only LWH, who later didn't complete his degree during summer, as the only post player.

JT4 turned out to be a godsend.

I don't mind losing by 20 if the majority of the game is hard fought and competitive. For Eastern to hang around, Lee has to have one of his best games and Thompson absolutely has to have another double-double and no foul trouble. The other key has to be limited turnovers. Our guards cannot be giving the ball away constantly. In other words, EMU has to play close to their potential. We shall see. One more thing. Jodan Price has got to start being a factor for this team! He has the talent to make a difference.

I'm not sure what a story in L'ville means.

He isn't listed in the game notes as the starter but those are 'backward looking' for starting lineups (who started the last game). This is true for FB and bball.

I was thinking the same thing. They don't have any deep insight into EMU basketball. Raven Lee is just a name on a roster to them, a name that was not in the starting lineup the last game. A deeper look would reveal that he's "kind of a big deal" to EMU.

He'll return to the starting lineup one of these games, we just don't know which one.

Probably when he has a good week of practice.

RE: Game Week: L'ville
A telling comment Murphy made in the post game press conference was that Lee really seems to get up for the toughest competition, like Louisville...not so much for the Rochesters of the world. I am predicting that Murphy turns him loose today and the hope is that he plays a great game.

Bob - agree on all your points. Has there been a Jodan sighting? We need him to play to his potential. He should be a much more consistent shooter....
