South Dakota: Per source, among those interviewing for the vacant head coaching position are Eastern Michigan offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Kalen DeBoer and Western Illinois head coach Bob Nielson.

That happens with good coaches, wish it was the DC coordinator instead.

"Good" might be a bit of a stretch.

Statistics and facts don't matter to the jokers on this board, they'll always find something to complain about, even if it flies directly in the face of reality.

He didn't get the job.

South Dakota: Sources tell FootballScoop that Western Illinois head coach Bob Nielson will be the new head coach at South Dakota.

*Kalen and could you imagine the PR nightmare if a team introduced him as their new head coach. Please welcome Kalen DeBoer as our new head coach! He spearheaded the offense at Eastern Michigan University where they just had a 1-11 season! And he is going to bring that same winning culture here! (crickets, faint boos).*

Agree - Bob. Anyone wanting their own gig can not be associated with a 1-11 program. On the flip side, if Creighton could be successful like back to back 7 win seasons then all of the coaches might earn better pay/jobs
