That may be our fewest number of all-conference guys since the SWC.

Yeah, it depends how you look at it. I just spot checked '09, and while we didn't have any first teamers, we had a bunch of second teamers and honorable mentions.. I'm surprised Ross Winship didn't get honorable mention as he was a pretty consistent contributor at DT for us. The same could be said about Abercrumbia, Thompson, and Gordon for the all freshman team. Gordon was particularly good all season IMO.

On offense, there aren't any glaring omissions... I think our offensive line has a pretty bright future, with next years starting line up likely to contain one senior, two juniors, and two sophomores (Anderson, Godber, Martin, Patterson, and Pierce).

Congratulations to all of these young men! Especially Andrew Reue: as many positions as he had to play this year, it is especially impressive.

Agreed with the congrats to the players.

While disappointing to see only one player on the first and second team, it is not surprising after watching the team this year. However, it bodes well for the future that we put 4 players on the All-Freshman team. Hopefully they can turn those into first team awards in the future!

My thought exactly. It goes to show how little talent we had this year among the upper classmen. I suspect Parks would have made it if he had played regularly.

Maybe. Parks flashed his ability from time to time, but even when healthy he was inconsistent IMO. In fact, most of the receivers were and we saw a lot of drops.

I also think our RB by big committee hurts the ability of any of those guys to make the team as an RB, as they don't get enough touches to put up big numbers.

Shocked that only one player made it but then again we struggled on D and O. I would be curious where they would rank our coaches ( HC, DC & OC) in comparison with the CUSA coaches.

Changes year to year. Id have to imagine pretty far down the list this year - they just seemed to be flummoxed about how to put together the pieces this year. We know where they ranked them in '08 and '13 - at the top of the class.

RE: All C-USA Teams
In reflection, my guess is that Rice would have had Andrew Reue, Brian Nordstrom and Christian Covington as all-conference (if the later two would have stayed for their final seasons and been healthy). This highlights how a team that does not have the overall depth of some other teams really suffers when players leave early.

On the other end of the depth issues: I agree that the deep rotation of running backs mentioned earlier by Ricelad15 also works against inclusion on a list of this type. I believe Darik Dillard had all-conference potential if he would have received more in-game reps, in particular plays that featured his pass-catching ability. Plus, he has only one fumble that I remember in his entire career (to-date) and a great nose for the end zone.

Running back by committee was not successful. A good group of RB but none of them were great. Last year Davis was great, this year very seldom used however looked great when he was in the game. Ditto with the tight ends.
