RE: Big 12 requires P5 game
Based on NewsOk this is the exposure of every P5 Conference based on playing other P5 Conference teams and/or BYU and/or ND and/or any AAC team ("since they won a lot"):

SEC=17
Big12= 12
Pac12=12
B1G=21
ACC=28
AAC=23

I am wondering the effect of this requirement on the bottom teams in the conference. uk is already considering dropping the rivalry with us if the SEC goes to a 9 game schedule. I understand we are trying to determine the best teams......but this could be catastrophic to the historical "not so good" teams.

The ACC may need to reel back its exposure.

What is crazy is if you look at the past ooc scheduling of the "bottom teams" of each of the P5 conferences.

RE: Big 12 requires P5 game
For all intents and purposes, P5 status was conferred by TV networks for reasons which don't always relate to athletic prowess. Thus, there are a lot of teams in so-called power conferences which don't stack up on the field of play with a lot of G5 teams. Even so, they still feel entitled to look down their noses at those better-performing teams.

The P5 is like a collection of exclusive country clubs which admit members on the basis of personal wealth rather than on their ability to play golf. And to be honest, in spite of the insults and slights, all of us who haven't been invited to join would love to be members of a club, not only for the chance to play on a better course, but also to rub shoulders with all those rich guys.

I think it is more about how much a university is willing to spend plus a grandfather clause. WF is absolutely riding coat tails as is uk and Kansas and IU and whoever in the Pac12.
If you look at the exposure the ACC allows themselves, I think it might be prudent to scale back. No other P5 puts themselves out there like the ACC.
We lead with our chin and everyone else ridicules us for it and defines themselves by us. It may be high time for the ACC to start not being so aggressive with its schedule.l
