Anyone want to carpool from LA city. I have space for 2 more, and heated leather seats!

Um, heated leather seats? In SoCal?? Gee, what the heck would you do if you lived in Illinois?

where did you end up getting tickets and how much? There are a couple different prices floating around. the game won't be crowded, so most likely sit where we like type of deal. thanks!

I bought them from the NIU site, and i got the pre-game party deal....im sure i would otherwise consume 50 bucks worth of beer and dogs.

RE: Poinsettia Bowl Rollcall
I called today to buy 2 tickets for the troops since I felt guilty I couldn't make it to the game. Anyhow asked how ticket sales were going and was told they have sold 100 tickets so far and another 50 something for the troops....I about spit my coffee when I heard that. Anyhow, I know people buy in stub hub and other outlets, but the outlook is not too good. If you can try to call to buy a ticket to donate or something. Hopefully the cameras don't reveal what I guess to be an abismal turnout 03-puke

Well, let's look at the possible reasons:

1) Expensive airfare. Cost of airfare, hotel, and tickets, too much for most people.

2) Proximity to Christmas and holiday/family commitments.

3) Weekday game and people can't take off work.

4) People spent their time and money attending the MACC.

5) Team not in best shape now, and people expect a loss.

6) Poor performance by NIU in postseason.

7) People prefer to sit at home in front of their 6-ft. HDTVs.

I'm sure there are other reasons/excuses.

If you are going to donate to the troops (and you should) it needs to be done by the 18th.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the ticket donations for the troops is a great idea. There are lots of troops in the SD area who would enjoy getting away and going to a game. And no one deserves it more than them. At $55 per ticket, it's a small price to pay to give these guys and gals a fun time for a few hours when they give so much to our country. Do it.

MissionFan73 - this is off topic but if you ever get back to DeKalb for a game you have to let me know. Would be nice to meet one of the other lady board members. :-) 04-cheers

I'm hoping to get back sometime next year, if I can ever find an airfare that isn't more than my monthy paycheck. :( For sure I'll let you know if it does happen.

Today's email says the reception is sold out, which is good, considering how expensive it is. It's much cheaper to buy tickets through Ticket Liquidator, so that's what I'm doing, although I'm a little confused because their seat map doesn't match the "Official" NIU (Ticketmaster) map.

I am a male who is transgender and a transvestite. In other words, I am a man who became a woman who dresses like a man. Am I part of the group? 04-jawdrop

Kudos to all who are taking the trek to SD to support the Huskies. I will be watching the game from my parents' home in Maine, so just about everyone's seats are closer to the field than mine.

Go Huskies!

Count me in.

Staying in Gaslamp/Downtown.

Going to watch band battle after plane lands on Monday, USS Midway luncheon on Tuesday, game Wednesday, leaving late Thursday.

Trying to figure out what to do in between that time. San Diego Zoo uber-expensive.

Hope to see you all there.

My brother served on the USS Midway at the end of the 80s right before it was decommissioned. I'll have to let him know NIU fans are having lunch on it. By the way, the San Diego Wild Animal Park is also worth visiting if you have time.

San Diego Zoo is much less expensive than the airfare to SD, hotel, and events cost.

No argument there, but as a single guy, I can't justify paying that much to see a zoo unless my niece & nephew are with me.

At least on the Midway, I can scratch my history itch, figuratively speaking.

I didn't see it until after I'd already ordered my tickets, but I'm good to go!

AFA things to do in San Diego, there are tons. My favorite is Old Town. Lots of history, great restaurants and, best of all for us gals 03-wink shopping! 02-13-banana There's also the Star of India ship, Seaport Village, and a few more.

Leaving in 15 min! At least it finally stopped raining, so I can wear my Huskie Hat.

P.S. HFA, I just got a "save the date" card for my nephew's wedding the last weekend in July. Hope we can get together then!
