LOL, what a bullsh*t article. Stubhub is a resell site, those tickets were already purchased in blocks by scalpers, who unfortunately didn't get the matchup they wanted, and are now taking a bath.

They (this is essentially an FSU blogger's article) can reach all they want on crap like this, it still won't stop them from getting their ass beat on Dec 31.

UCF got the same spiel before the fiesta bowl in 2013. No one questioned our fan support after. We had more people there than Baylor, and Baylor was already half way there!

Go Houston! I hope you beat Florida State. If you sell your portion of the tickets you will be fine. It will prove the them wrong.

We're supposed to be mad or in anyway affected because ticket prices aren't high? That game could be played in Pasadena...Texas and I'd still be thrilled at the prestige of playing one of the best teams in the country after a great season.

RE: Come on cougar high, you are embarrassing the AAC here
For the record, my group of young alums are purchasing ours on payday the 15th lol flights for $400 and tickets at $150 a pop plus hotel is a lot to deal with when we are paying back student loans and the housing market in Houston. Not making an excuse but that's just how my group has to operate.

I will say this. UH is missing the fans with disposable income when we sucked ACE from 96-06. There was no investment from the university and overall we were awful. Those fans would be the ones immeditely dropping cash for the game with no problem. Oh well it is what it is. I am fairly confident we sell over 10,000 tickets but I doubt we sell over our allotment. I would be curious how it stacks up against Boise/TCU/UCONN/NIU/CINCY's first trips to BCS games.

Since the Houston Communications department likes to tweet on tickets sold, I'm sure @D_D_Bass would like to give an update. After all, it's common to report these things04-rock

While your thrill level is appreciated a poor showing to due a lack of houston fans will embarrass the conference.

Supply greater than demand equals low ticket price.

Really?

I guess UCF fans developed an acceptance and ease with lying/different version of the truth.... during all those years under O'Leary:

"On Sunday, UCF announced it had sold 5,000 tickets, less than one-third of its 17,500 ticket it is required to purchase for the bowl game. The UCF figure includes band members and player and team compensatory tickets — meaning fewer than 5,000 tickets have been sold."

Source: http://mweb.cbssports.com/ncaaf/eye-on-c...-allotment

Now I understand that many UCF fans bought tix through ticket brokers at better pricing and seating...but it wasn't that much more.

1) the price would have been identical for any other AAC team

the logic he uses is flawed

their is ABSOLUTELY NO evidendnce te ticket price fall is because of houston..
he is a FSU fan (head of the fsu sbnation) and made an article to complain about houston being the reason for ticket price drop..and used bad logic to do so

The real reason for the ticket price drop

DISAPPOINTED FSU FANS!!!!

tallahassee to atlanta is just 4 hours away..a huge core of their fan base is already in atlanta

if FSU was excited about this it would have been pricey

the entire basis for his argument, was Herman "complaining" about attendance, when the reality is Herman wasnt even complaining about our attendance but just trying to motivate fans to show, this was our highest attended season ever... this is our second season at 40k and are adjusting rather nicely, all things considered

Not sure why I bother, but this thread originated with a troll SBNation post (Bleacher Report anyone?) Troll away idiots. Everyone is going to this game. The ticket office hasn't even distributed tickets yet you ungulates. This is about as sad as this board gets, and that is saying something. I would say you are all better than this, but no one believes that.

Just call them criminoles and say how thuggish their team is. That gets under their skin and always gets someone mad.

With Spirit and Frontier there is no reason Houston fans shouldn't travel.

If Florida State fans are disappointed now then I can only imagine how they will be after Houston curb stomps their team in the Peach Bowl.

Thank God it wasn't Air Tran. Pretty much every flight I ever took off that airline was delayed, one time leading to an overnight layover.

As long as they have 7-11's there we should be fine.
