Either him or little Stock. Either way good for MT.

I agree. The most prolific scoring offense in the league with a line that gives up very few sacks, considering the number of pass plays, and only one OL. That seems really weird, but rating OL is probably one of the most difficult because there are fewer if any real statistical facts to use.

I was impressed with WKU's oline, cheapshots withstanding. No sacks on your QB in the championship game. Impressive.

I agree. Of course, you and I both know that no other team in CUSA has ever had an OL or any other player cheapshot an opponent.

I think you should probably question the USA Today AA honor.

Higbee had almost the exact same yards, a higher yards per catch average and more touchdowns. And did so in four less games due to injury.

Good football player, but I don't think he had the second best season as a TE this year.

IMO, Morgan has more athletic talent but Higbee played for the CUSA champions and had the best QB in CUSA throwing to him.

Well, luckily USA Today doesn't just base their selections on boxscores like you just did. I'm sure blocking played a big role. I'm also sure the type of offense each player played in was analyzed as were the quality of teammates.

RE: All-Conference Team and post-season awards
If you believed USA Today closely followed UTSA to see how well a tight end blocked then I say you're giving them way too much credit.

Most of the draft sites have Higbee ahead of Morgan. NFL Draft Scouts has him 41 spots higher at the position. Not saying I agree that Morgan should be that low just pointing out the NFL gurus aren't going to have a tight end high on their list that doesn't block well.

WKU senior QB Brandon Doughty is the recipient of the Conference USA Most Valuable Player Award, becoming the first player in league history to win the award in back-to-back seasons.

Southern Miss junior QB Nick Mullens was named the Offensive Player of the Year after helping the Golden Eagles become the most improved program in the FBS (+6 wins).

Defensive recognition went to Marshall senior LB Evan McKelvey, the second straight year a Thundering Herd linebacker has garnered the honor (Neville Hewitt in 2014).

The Special Teams Player of the Year award went to Marshall senior return specialist Deandre Reaves.

Freshman of the Year honors were given to Middle Tennessee QB Brent Stockstill, who broke the league's record for passing yards by a freshman.

Senior QB Jeff Driskel of Louisiana Tech garnered the league's Newcomer of the Year award, becoming the second straight Bulldog signal-caller to win the award and making LA Tech the first school to take the honor in consecutive seasons.

Brent Stockstill is Freshman of the Year.

Not a surprise though James may have stolen a vote. But Brent broke just about every freshman passing record in the conference. Through that lens kind of a no brainer.

I can't even find David Morgan on this list of 2016 TE Draft choices by CBSSports. How in the world did he make All-American? He is a senior, right?

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prosp...gs/2016/TE

Actually, I think Morgan's better than some of these other TE's. Some of these guys have very few catches this year.

.
Honestly, even they go hand in hand, how your rate as an NFL prospect should have no bearing on what accolades you earn in college.
I am thinking since Morgan caught 38 passes in UTSA's enept offense he has to be pretty good while Higbee had Doughty throwing to him. 03-idea

Too bad that guy that trash-talked Driskel all Summer (like, to a weirdly obsessive level) has been banned (ok, it's not really too bad he's been banned - that's actually a good thing).

Unfortunately for Morgan, UTSA had a walk on QB for the majority of the season. Morgan really did well vs P5 competition and was constantly double teamed all season. UTSA would often use Morgan as a decoy throughout the remainder of the season. One of his best attributes besides his great hands is his blocking which goes unnoticed in box score. The guy was absolutely a terror especially in his down field blocking and had a huge influence on Jarveon Williams becoming UTSA's first 1000 rusher. Just a bright spot in a dismal season.

UTSA fans are excited for the possibility of their first DRAFTED player in the NFL.

Aaron Jones plays less than 90 minutes of football this year and is still honorable mention?

Yes me too! OL dominated this season, every team for the most part including LSU...Unreal to only have 1 selection...OL did a hell of a job this season and they are all returning unless Lamp goes pro early...Which leads me to some optimism next season despite losing Doughty...I know most Marshall fans think we will not win 2 games next season, but even a game manager at QB for us next season can win 6 games....

Wow. That's an embarrassing oversight for CUSA.
