Toledo had WV Tech. I hope to God they're non-D1. They're not even NAIA DI. But they are #22 in NAIA DII.

I missed that one, ESPN has a logo for them for some reason but doesnt for the other non-D1 teams.

UB kept the game to a 9 point deficit until about 9 minutes to go and ISU has just lit it up since. Still I think UB benefitted from playing ISU and Duke in the non conference schedule.

DOH, the MAC West party is over. Good for him he is back, but bad for the rest of the West.

RE: Basketball 12/6-12/12
buffalo was down 1 with about 10 minutes to play at the #4 team in the country. some talent there, just not enough shooters. I mean, a lot of guys that miss shots from a lot of places on the floor, but they have size and some grit plus a pg who is a whirling magician with the handle (just can't shoot). If that team still hadn't lost those 3 guys off the roster (evans, moss and the transfer sg) they would be scary.

Current Strength of Schedules:
Buffalo - 31
EMU - 59
WMU - 98
Ohio - 104
Kent State - 177
Miami - 220
Toledo - 265
CMU - 313
BG - 321
NIU - 326
Akron - 327
Ball State - 329
It is sad that nearly half the league has a SOS of over 300.. This is why we will never get multiple teams in the NCAA Tournament

I agree but BSU needs this right now. They won a big, fat total of 7 games last year and need to rack up some W's to get the program on it's feet again.

I don't disagree with that, but teams like Toledo, CMU and Akron, who were all in the MAC Semifinals last year, need to schedule better in the non conference.

Some of that is bad luck. Akron has only two teams on their schedule to date that are traditionally bad. Cleveland State, Marshall and even Green Bay aren't normally as bad as they are this year. Toledo's schedule is the one that hurts. They don't have a single marquee game. In fact, they are about to hit the easy part of their schedule.

RE: Basketball 12/6-12/12
what doesn't show up in the RPI or in the SOS is the number of non-D1 games, which are around 21 total. To date the MAC has 65 wins, but 15 of those wins are vs non-D1 competition. That's nearly 1/4 of all wins so far. There are still 7 non-D1 games to be played. That's not helping anybody.

Money changes everything. The big $ schools have ruined college sports for everyone else.
