UNC is losing their QB and I believe some players on their O line so I expect they will take a step back next year. Clemson also has one of the top RB prospects coming in next year, Feaster out of Spartanburg SC.

CLemson is losing some on defense but on offensive side of ball return most everybody.

Carolina loses 4 starters on offense and 3 on defense. QB could be an upgrade. It is for sure in the passing game. They lose one WR and a guard. Both backs back and 3 of top 4 receivers
They shouldn't take a step back but the schedule will be tougher.

For Louisville...

Offense
We lose no one of major note. Just saw a stat that 99.7% of our offensive production will be back next year (all but 18 yards). No one is a legit candidate to jump early on that side of the ball. We lose one of our top ten o-lineman (which may not necessarily be a good thing given how bad that unit was this year but we did start three freshmen up front). All of the major skill players return and most were crazy young as we started as many as 7 freshmen at times on offense this season.

Defense
For sure losses:
-DE Sheldon Rankins (3rd team All-ACC; 53 tackles, 6 sacks)
-DE Pio Vatuvei (starter)
-LB James Burgess (3rd team All-ACC; 90 tackles)
-DB Jermaine Reve (nickleback, primary backup)

Potential NFL defections:
-DT DeAngelo Brown (2nd team All-ACC)
-LB Keith Kelsey (1st team All-ACC; 100 tackles)
-LB Devonte Fields (19.5 TFL, 8 sacks)
-LB Trevon Young (8.5 sacks)
-DB Josh Harvey-Clemons (80 tackles, 2 INT)

Who knows how many, if any, of these guys try to jump but it wouldn't surprise me if a couple did. We've had a string of guys go pro early the past couple years, particularly on that side of the ball.

It seems that Brown, Kelsey, Fields, Clemons & Wiggins are all coming back for their senior year. Young had surgery on his hip following his bowl game injury.

Brandon Chubb 1st team All-ACC Linebacker and Alex Kinal 1st team All-ACC punter who holds two national punting records.

Wake should be a bowl team next year though.

I believe QB Will Gardner has decided to skip his senior year since he graduated this year & didn't play. Gardner was the Cards starter in 2014 but has had multiple knee injuries.

Correction:
1 player on OL. The rest are returning including an entire OL that redshirted this past offseason.

We're losing 1 main receiver but we're loaded there.

We're not losing a RB with significant time.

On the defense we're losing a safety, 2LB's, and a DL. The DL and safety replacements will be simple to fill. LB is going to be our question mark. There shouldn't be any drop off except the schedule gets harder.

2016 looking like it can be a special year. We can't over look Houston down there as they are also looking loaded in OOC.

Cards have to replace Rankins, those are huge shoes to fill. Our OL will still be a concern as well. We have to replace Appleby & Wallace so our kicking game will be a huge question mark.

Rankins was fantastic but compared to what we loss in 2013 and 2014 on Defense this is acceptable...the OLine should be btr through experience alone

Cards just lost Coach Buckley to Miss St. Isn't that the 2nd defensive coach to leave?

Yes, Safeties coach Greg Brown went to Missouri. Brown was also the recruiting coordinator. Buckley coached the CB.

Brown's recruiting coordinator role was largely administrative, he wasn't responsible for bringing HS players in the door. No huge loss.

I'm more disappointed to see Buckley leave for Miss. St. even though he was only at Louisville for a year.
