Yep. Good offense or not, Auburn has a lot of good athletes. I'd be afraid to bet on this one.
As I have always said...If we can block them we can beat them

If we win..we were expected to cuz Auburn 'sucks'.
If we lose...everyone screams S-E-C S-E-C!
We can always move down to the MAC and try to go undefeated if you think that is better.
if we were to lose to Auburn...then we lose the 'credit' we got for beating Ole Miss. Fans and media alike would be saying that our win was either a fluke..or Justin Fuente gets all of the credit...and we go back to being 'the same ole Memphis'.

RE: Memphis (+2) vs Auburn
When I was younger I knew a couple of bookies. What they did was illegal, but they were friends with certain prosecutors and law enforcement going back to our high school days, so as long as they stayed out of the limelight, they could conduct their business. One worked out of a country club, another the backroom of a pool hall. But that was a different era, before Al Gore invented the internet. Based on radio banter (Vernon and Parrish reference gambling often), twitter, and message boards, a lot of guys still gamble on sports, which is not surprising, but I'd like to know how they are doing it. Do they still use local bookies or do they use the net to setup offshore accounts?

MEMPHIS NEEDS TO TAKE OVER THIS CITY!
Thanks, Nick! Could you be more obvious?
Auburn has arguably one of the best travel reputations for football.
Outnumbered FSU nearly 3-1 in Pasadena and Oregon 2-1 in Glendale. I doubt the 50,000-60,000 Auburn fans that went to those games didn't stay at a hotel.
Auburn has sold out every bowl allotment for every bowl game they've be in since the BCS era began. They consistently average 87k+ at home each season.
Go troll Auburn on an actual Auburn board.

Okay nobody get silly if we beat Auburn that is huge. Beating a team that has won National Championships is a big deal, I dont care what their current season was like. Some of you need to check back in to football reality just a tad

or... local bookies that set up "off shore" websites?

I once had a client start betting on sports and he couldn't stop. I watched him lose a very successful business, his mansion, his plane, his vacation home in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and ultimately his family because he was such a foolish degenerate gambler. I don't have to learn lessons the hard way. You will never catch me gambling in any form or fashion.
I asked the question purely out of curiosity. There is an awful lot of discussion about point spreads. I always wonder where all of the gambling is taking place. The title of this thread spurred the question.

I had a friend who was a compulsive gambler plus a golfer. Bad combination. He told me he once lost a thousand dollars while WAITING TO TEE OFF on a bet over which of them could chip first into a trash can.
