I'm so disappointed in Charlotte attendance... I managed to get to two home games and I live in NY. They need to rely less on the student section and promote the team in the marketplace with an aggressive marketing campaign at alumni and casual football fans.

You can add (worst attendance in 10 years) to MT.

You realize our stadium seats 15,314 right? We are lucky to average 14,618 with a team that hasn't won a game since early September.

I thought your stadium only held 15k as of now. If that's the case then you are doing very well. Is there an expansion on the horizon?

I don't think they'll announce anything this year. I'd image they'd add 5,000 seats after next season.

Damn, UTEP. = / You guys were still getting good attendance a few years ago even while you've been down. Sucks big time.

He brings up a good point though, our marketing with the charlotte market and general alumni sucks.

This is why championships matter. Being decent doesn't get it done when you are trying to build and overcome the many barriers we have discussed here before.

We had the 3rd highest in the conference as a % of capacity.

I'd love to know where we rank in terms of ACTUAL attendance. I think we had an average attendance than all of Rice's games combined. Same with FIU.

WKU reports the REAL attendance, where as most schools in the conference don't even report anywhere close to the real amount.

You want to talk trash about WKU's attendance? You should educate yourself. We had a grand total of one home game that wasn't either a Thursday night OR 11AM Friday/Saturday game. I think that hurt attendance by at least 10% or more.

That's easy when you play in such a small stadium and that has nothing to do with the total numbers.

It's just so surreal. So many folks talking about how big their trailer park home is compared to the other trailer park homes when there are 10,000 square foot mansions on the other side of town.

Yes, yes I do... I was there during the build - attended every game of the initial season, while on campus - and five home games the past two season's while living in NY. The school not pounding on us alumni to fill the place and build a tradition is a mistake at filling the place and getting more funding for the program. That's just shortsighted marketing in regards to alumni, those with a tie to the school and the general public.

Will they announce such an expansion if we're not filling it already the place? I'm not confident they will.

RE: C-USA 2015 FB attendance
If you are averaging over 90% capacity you should expand, it allows you to take advantage when good match ups occur. Also when you run close to capacity you run the risk of people opting out because they don't think there's availability. Scarcity only becomes a good thing when it allows you to significantly push prices.

We don't need 38,000 seats every game, obviously, but having them allowed us to have over 38,000 for Purdue and we'll have over 38,000 for Louisville next year. If Charlotte had 20,000 I believe the Marshall game there in 2017 would sell out and having more tickets to give visitors allows them to lure some bigger teams to their place.

Rice attendance can be cut in half and that would be their actual attendance

Just looked at your schedule MT Fan and no you did not have that kind of schedule. I count three 6PM Saturday home games,, one 2:30 Saturday home game, and two 11AM Saturday home games. We had one 2:30PM Saturday game, one Thursday night game, one Thursday 11AM day after Thanksgiving game, and three 11AM Saturday games.
