I was told by a reliable source that ASU was not even sure where the trophy was early Saturday. The SBC office simply fedex it to Memphis apparently...maybe Jonesboro...I'm not sure but regardless there was some confusion of where to pick it up. Largely due to the ineptness or lack of consideration on the SBC Office's part.

We have never been the fan base that was constantly searching for the exit door and crying about wanting to leave. We are more interested in being associated with good football than hanging out with the pretty people in Miami.

I have to agree with the "bush league" sentiment. Even if KB had "personal" reasons for not showing up, at a minimum he could've sent his caddy...err I mean secretary. This gives conference mates some potentially good bowl sign ideas for all viewers to see. Feel free to share your ideas!

Well maybe he read the thread on our board about whether we should boo him or not. It was split about 50/50.

I think we should chip in and hire a private investigator to see if his excuse was legit or not.

You would think he wouldn't travel out of town, but since it's stAte he'll probably head to Orlando with golf clubs in tow.

It's called Dereliction of Duty. Unless he had a death in the immediate family, he needs to go.

Maybe with all the bowls he added he's feeling confident in his standing. But yes, he knew it was a snub and he didn't care.

If A-State were necessary for him to keep his job, we'd have to get a restraining order to keep him from humping our leg. But we're not necessary for him to keep his job obviously.

Let me start by saying that it used to be that the trophy presentation was tied to the media announcement that the champion was accepting a bid to a specific bowl. It wasn't usually done at a game unless bowl reps were there extending an invite. That changed in 2012. I'm fine with switching back but if is going to be done that way, do it that way.

The AState relationship hasn't been pleasant.
In 2012 WKU saw a hit in AState v Alcorn they believed was targeting by our best linebacker. Supervisor of officials said it was not and he was overruled and the player was suspended for the game against WKU and we lost.
In 2013 WKU was pushed for GoDaddy and AState objected citing the league football regs providing that all champs be placed. The regs were on the league website and when cited publicly they were password protected.
We had a wide receiver we were told must be suspended for a quarter voluntarily or he would be suspended for a half again based on a turn in by the upcoming opponent.
We turned in a hit on one of our players a suspension does nothing to help AState game had been played but were told it was close enough that it could only result in action if game official had called it because it would have been upheld if called.

And so on and so forth.

I asked once about an upcoming league issue and was told we had been given no information but the counterpart at App said ________.

A year ago my sense was we didn't have the warm fuzzies but were satisfied. I do not believe that is true now.
