Where were the NIU fans ?
I am an EMU alum and went to the MACC yesterday. I was surprised at the low NIU fan turnout based on your tradition built over the years.

The fans that follow the team closely knew we had no shot and a lot of things had to go our way for us to even have a chance at winning.

But yes, our fan base sucks and people have become bored with MAC opponents and MACC games.

Unfortunately........these were my feelings too! I chose to be at the after-work activity with my teaching/coaching colleagues. I was glad we got there but, like stated above, it wouldve taken a lot for us to actually win.

RE: Where were the NIU fans ?
Been there, done that, bought the t shirt

I think the MAC is probably the best fit, but yeah it is getting lethargic. Getting a taste of the biggest stage in the Orange bowl left us desiring the unrealistic. i am a die hard fan, but I think I am getting the seven year itch with the MAC and I need something sexier to take time away from my family and drive 5 hours to Detroit. I thought about taking the entire family but driving 10 total hours with a two kids under 5 didn't sound enticing, especially when the outlook was mildly high for an upsetting game with a 5th string QB (who I think did mediocre but the play calling kind of set him up for failure)

RE: Where were the NIU fans ?
Instead of the deflating and negative we suck attitude I prefer to appreciate the fans we do have. It all starts with a positive attitude which builds momentum. There is a defeatist attitude which we somehow have to change as a whole to turn this around. Enjoy what we do have and try to build it. Be positive as that is what will entice more people to want to be a part of Huskie fandom. Be a pessimist and tell everyone we suck will not create change. Talk about the positives for once for Christ sakes. The crowds we have for weekday games and for the MACC are so enthusiastic- thanks for being great fans whether you are at the games or not.

Go Huskies!

How dare you speak so positively about our fans! You're in the wrong thread!
