Desal water is very expensive. Santa Barbara mothballed its desal plant after building it because the water was much more costly than water from other sources.
I doubt SoCal is going to build a whole array of desal plants, make their residents pay for the expensive water, and then let Arizona or Vegas take the cheaper water for themselves. I'm no expert on politics, but I have to think any SoCal politician who did that to his or her constituents would see their political career ended very quickly.

I am really surprised he didn't take the job, SC has deep pockets surely offered more money than AZ, that said the WVU job will be open next year unless they win the Big12. I know a lot of WVU fans and boosters want Rich Rod to return to WVU maybe he's already been approached.

I don't buy for a second that Rich Rod turned down a USC offer. He loved being at Clemson, and South Carolina could have surely had him if they wanted him bad enough. A more likely scenario is that he did not get the offer, and team RichRod is in face-saving mode (to the detriment of USC and Will Muschamp).
It definitely does seem that there is a strong (and wealthy) contingency of WVU supporters that want him to return. Personally, I think Dana will get one more year. But, if RR comes back to Morgantown someday and wins, I would be fine with it.

Dana is not a very good head coach.
The last four seasons at WVU:
7-6
4-8
7-6
7-5

Not surprising the California guy focuses on only a portion of what the great H1 actually said. I said the politics is keeping the other groups (States) from helping California get those plants built and functioning. But hey, sell whatever story you want. I sold the overall story, you are selling the Cali story.

If it was me I'd be in Arizona, and not for any silly reason like the weather. I'd be in Arizona because it's a better place to compete out of. USC is a poor choice from a career standpoint.

A true Alabama fan, calling people silly for living somewhere for the climate instead of choosing to live there because of the competition level of college football there.

I think this has a lot to do with the conference that WVU is currently in and the way Kentucky is currently recruiting Ohio.

Every since WVU's blowout win of Clemson in 2011, WVU has struggled.
This is known as the Clemson Curse or Dabo's Revenge.
