1b Ark St impressive win over App, but in a battle with GaSt the week before.
1c App St tougher schedule and dose of reality. Still a solid team but not great.

4. ULL - should have lost to GaSt. Black cloud on program hurting team.
5. Troy - will find out this weekend how much they have improved.
6. S. Alabama - sdsu solid win for sbc.
7. Idaho
8. GaSt
9. NMSU
10. Texas St.
11. ULM

Delusional...Ga So. has beaten 4 of the 5 bottom teams in the belt and got throttled by App St. Come on man!

Do the GS/Western Michigan and Ark St/Toledo games not count?

Ark St played great last week, but the performance against GaSt was not impressive.

AState started slow and I personally slept on them as a result... not so now. They're good and deserve to be where they are.

It was a week and a half ago when Ark St was trailing GaSt by 7 at home in the 4th quarter. The Panthers had them on the ropes. I'm just not convinced there is a clear leader among the top 3 teams.

We were never on the ropes against GSU. I watched the entire game. While we didn't blow their doors off, we were in control for the majority.

We went into the half down 7 following a last minute GSU touchdown. Their only other score for the remainder of the game came on a kickoff return for a touchdown. We won that game by 2 touchdowns... one point more than we beat App. You keep saying this and it isn't at all true.

That being said... Georgia State is playing the best football of their life right now. Since their win @ Ball they've played two of the best teams in the Sun Belt and done, very, very well. I know it's fashionable in your camp to dump all over the Panthers, but... they aren't the laughing stocks of the conference. They certainly have a tougher road in the Sun Belt this year than GS does.

Very good stuff. I think some of our fans didn't even realize how improved we were.

I just calls 'em like I sees 'em. Appreciate the sentiment though.

All that being said, I fully expected GSU to lose in a close one. Could not be happier to have been dead wrong.

You realize you are quoting the same ga south fan in each post? Don't lump us all together. I don't think all a state fans are like you, wouldn't be fair to the rest of the group.

RE: Just some old posts today's scores reminded me of
After taking a 3 loss traditional SEC power to overtime, being well ahead in computer polls and having the same record as Ark St it seemed perfectly logical to come to the conclusion that reasonable arguments could be made for 3 teams, thus the 1a,1b, 1c. Had we not muffed the punt and won, I would think a sec win would carry a lot of weight for a SBC team.

In hindsight and after Saturday's results the picture is much more clear, and there is no longer a reasonable argument. In the end, just an opinion that turned out wrong. It happens.

I personally am a bit skeptical yet of the win. It has already become a topic of comedy for the C-USA folks as you lost to Charlotte 03-banghead03-banghead.

That said, you have the bowl game to win and can't lose to Charlotte again next season, otherwise the way you played early on actually reflects poorly on the conference as a whole instead of the other way around.

Please don't take offense.

I'm not. They didn't just win, they dominated that GS team.

Teams improve as the year progresses, down the stretch in power rankings GA St. would be third in the SBC.

As they should. Sadly, others, especially those fan's of schools in C-USA seem to make this a point of contention. In my opinion, Arkansas State would've been two wins better had Knighten not went out of the Missouri game and had he played against Toledo. I'm just ready for the 19th to be here as i'm more excited for that game than I am for the App bowl game.
