When we have a year like this one where one school is a weak sister, or incomplete as a team like Florida is with no offense, then yeah it is an unnecessary risk. But our game does add quite nicely to everyone's coffers. So it is what it is.

Temple is garbage. Houstons best win is against us! Lol! See how it works?
The Big 12 has it right by eliminating risk. No CCG equals best view of second place team.

RE: The Big 12 has it right....NO Conference Championship Games.
Iowa/Michigan State coincidentally had the same pairing as a national quarterfinal, but if an 8-team playoff started today:
1) Clemson vs. 8) Notre Dame
4) Iowa vs. 5) Michigan State
2) Alabama vs. 7) Stanford
3) Oklahoma vs. 6) Ohio State

Sorry about that!
Houston is having a great season and I look forward to the opportunity next year. All I'm saying is the Big 12 is protecting their #2 team by not having a CCG. For all I know, the SEC may have demanded that.

Oklahoma could be out and Houston could be in if the Big 12 title happened to be Oklahoma Vs Houston for all the marbles. Both only have 1 lose.

Every Conference should do the same from now on. If I were the ACC, SEC, B1G, and PAC 12 I would sue To get out of the CCG mandate of the television deal.
Things have changed.
Who would they sue? The conferences created the CG. If they want it gone they could do away with it after the TV contracts expire. I have no problem with the CG's. My problem is trying to make the Big 12 have a CG when they don't believe it is in their best interest to have one.

I still think we need to go ahead and dissolve the BigXII into the remaining four conferences, that way EVERY CCG is a play in game for the Final Four regardless.
You then "make it fair" for the G5 schools saying that one of theirs can get into the Final Four over a Conference Champion if they're ranked higher in the polls than one of said champs. It'll never actually happen, but it'd throw 'em a scrap like the BCS days...

The CCG hurts at best and REALLY hurts at worst.
Everyone focuses on the winners. I'm suggesting the losers are hurt the worst and it could be financially impactful.
Nonsense, they enhance big time college football. Two of the games last night were basically playoff games

RE: The Big 12 has it right....NO Conference Championship Games.
Very rarely are things going to fall that way (4 vs 5). Most years your CCG is a 3 vs 9 or 4 vs 13 or something or another. That's why you ultimately get rid of them and seed your 8 team playoff this weekend.
