I was watching that game and referenced it in the CG thread. Baylor put that kid on the sideline treatment table, and worked on him so long, Herbstriet finally gave up on the angle and they took the camera off the player. He was out at least for the remainder of that drive (I eventually flipped channels to another game).

Do teams fake injuries to slow the opponent's momentum? Heck, yeah, they do. Is there any way of knowing for sure unless you're in the middle of it? Nope. Herbstriet has a habit of his passion and his correctness on a given subject being inversely proportional.

Booing the band is rude and not something I actively endorse, but I'm not going to get upset about it, either. Provided there are no verbal insults or assault involved, I can accept that much as good-natured ribbing. I'm OK not expecting it to be all puppies and unicorns as the visiting team.

What he's talking about is ONE drunk student...if he was that, harassing the S. Miss band as it lined up for halftime. A police officer which looked to be with the S. Miss team took him down to the field and talked to him. I personally would never do something like that. But I would have told that officer to get lost. He has ZERO power in the state of Ky to stop anyone.

But this fan was being a ass so I get why he did it. Other than that all I heard was cheers before the game and during halftime for their band

Easy explanation: The player is limping around a bit or otherwise not right, but doesn't want to come out. The teammate notices the player struggling, comes over, and tells him to just go down so they can get him out of the game and replace him with somebody who'll be able run worth a darn.

That happens all the time during games if you're paying attention, but I admit it's easier to draw conclusions from a half-second gif with no context.

RE: Did turf contribute to injuries at WKU today?
The turf had nothing to do with the injuries in this game. WKU has played on this turf for years with little if any issues. I think what happened is that your defense, while playing lights out for over half the game, got gassed. They were obviously tired. Sometimes that leads to injury. It was bizarre as to how many went down, mostly in the fourth quarter. All that said, no one will ever convince me that there were some guys going down that truly weren't injured to slow the pace down because they were totally gassed, and needed as much time as possible to recuperate.

Good luck in your bowl game! Beat Washington, and make your CUSA brethren proud!
