I would've much preferred Don Brown, but I guess beggars can't be choosey.

You guys got yourself a very god DC. It may take a couple of years for your kids to get it, but when they get it, opposing QB's will be running for their lives. Glad to see Shafer land on his feet. He deserves it.

To get a good idea about shafers defense, go to youtube and look up the Syracuse/WV Pinstripe bowl game, or the Kansas State/Syracuse Pinstripe Bowl game.

Yeah I was aware of Shafer's reputation as a DC. Still would've preferred Brown but only because he served as DC under Ralph Friedgen and knows the DMV area fairly well. Overall, I'm impressed with the hires our new HC, D.J. Durkin, has made. He gets it that he needs to surround himself with quality coaches.

Good luck to coach Shafer. I hope he does well at Maryland (but loses all the recruits to Miami LOL!)

You can now throw in former UVA HC Mike London to the Terps staff. He's been hired as an associate head coach.

Too many chiefs (especially on the defensive side) and not enough Indians.

Should bold well in recruiting though. As long as everyone knows who's boss they should be fine. That's a solid staff.

I was really hoping that we would make London an offer as DC. Dino has a great staff on offense, but I think that there's room to improve on D. It would also be nice to have a great recruiter who has experience in ACC territories.

London has that and he's a great DC.

Not moving on him makes me nervous. I hope that Dino isn't making SS' mistake.
