I've watched most of the game and except for a few big plays it has been an old fashioned B1G smash mouth battle (lots of running/short pass plays and defense). Iowa is better than many thought but Sparty had them shut down to two field goals save for a big pass play that went for a TD. Looks like they are about to take it in for the lead and possibly the game.

Watch him during games interacting with players on the bench after they come off the field. They would run through a wall for him. Like a good gunny or chief in the USMC and USN. People effing get it done for them because it's not an option otherwise.

The guy is not an innovator, but he is one hell of a motivator and influence on that team.

Oh, I agree. I don't dislike or have any issue with Dantonio. I'm most impressed with his defensive acumen and his disciplined brand of football. No doubt the man can coach his players and he has a great thing going at Michigan State.

This is how BK is too. Very no nonsense and failure just isn't an option. In fact this is the quality of most good coaches. Motivation, inspiration, and they don't accept failure. I HATE Jimmy Johnson but I heard him speak at my work once and after his talk, I at least respected the heck out of him. He said something like, "I'm not much on X's and O's...that's what I have coordinators for. MY job is to motivate and influence this team to win." He said a lot of great things. Best speech I've ever heard. I still think he's an arse of a person but I respect him as a coach tremendously. He told a Troy Aikmen story that was amazing but I don't have the space here to re tell it. Great coach.

Also Alabama starts 3 freshman on punt return team that blocked a punt. There was a discussion earlier this year if UC should. It's a pretty wide-spread practice.

How come we can't watch hours of Frank Beamer special teams and just copy them? His teams have been known for superior special teams over the years. I mean, I know we have a high school kid running special teams or whatever, but can't the kid just dial up some beamer ball videos and go from there? Think kid!
