Absolutely. But NIU is relying on a lot of youth. Winning against anybody on the road is tough when you do that. I was encouraged by the game tonight. When you start out down 12-0 and have a shot to win...that's mental toughness. NIU wouldn't be put away.

There were certainly some positive signs tonight. But just because Mizzou plays in the SEC or is a P5 team doesn't mean they are good. So although we played okay, that's a game you should win even if you're a middle to top MAC team. Mizzou is not good.

I can tolerate a lot of things, but not complete ignorance. This is a process and no one thought NIU was Kentucky this year. The base is being built so that when these freshman are juniors, big things can be expected. DogpoundNorth joins todd the wmu fan as the only 2 people Ive ever had to block, simply can't take these NIU sucks and fire the coach thread after every loss this year, pure ignorance.

Just being respectable is a huge step in the right direction. Patton set this program back so far it is disgusting. He is my least favorite NIU coach of any kind for any program. He seriously was stealing money while he was here. If this group of freshman show any sort of development the Huskies will have a good team very soon. I have always been amazed that a school so close to the city could not attract some of the abundant talent out to DeKalb. I know they are not going to get the Parkers and Okafors, but there is an absolute ton of talent in Chicago - even now most of these freshman are note even from Chicago!
