Bowen handled it nicely
Time will tell. But looks like Bowen handles this transition nicely considering the circumstances.

Why would you think that?

I'm guessing our AD was very involved through the entire process.

Same here. Due to the Internet, urban legends spring up awfully quick these days.

That's never stopped him before. I think he enjoys making a fool of himself.

Why would you think "Bowen stayed out of the way" when our president specifically thanked Bowen by name in his first tweet? I'm thrilled that our president has such active interest, even promoting season ticket sales, but it's apparent Bowen was very involved in the process. What I really like about the whole process is it was very private, indicating it was about getting the best coach not about admin egos like we've seen at other schools. What I really like is even the connected media had no clue, very professionally handled.

I agree with Atlanta. I am pleased with both Bowen and Rudd. I love Rudd's enthusiasm for the school and athletic program.

As Calkins is describing right now on his show -- it really couldn't have been done much better. This administration is one of the best IMO.

Not according to race car guy. He hates Bowen for some reason.

We formally lost Fuente on Sunday.

4 days later we have a new coach.

I cant think of a school who pulled it off faster than that in this cycle.

CAlkins says that Bowen told him that they would either anounce a coach on Tues. or Friday at the SMU game. I think they knew this was coming some time back.

They did, but there's only so much you can do until its official. Missouri has known for a while they were losing Pinkle. Miami, Illinois, Syracuse, Virginia and Maryland all fired their coaches at least a week prior to Fuente leaving, some much earlier than that, and some of them have yet to hire. (A couple may be waiting on CCG's tomorrow to complete, but some of them also simply gave up and promoted the interims.)
