RE: All ACC bowl teams underdogs to start
FSU -7 vs Houston
Virginia Tech -14 vs Tulsa

Duke +2 vs Indiana
UofL +3 vs Texas A&M
Miami +3 vs Washington St
UNC +3 vs Baylor
Clemson +4 vs Oklahoma
Pittsburgh +5 vs Navy
NC State +7 vs Mississippi St

We have a lot of underdogs, but any spread with 3-4 points is likely to be a close game.

RE: All ACC bowl teams underdogs to start
So this bowl season would go FAR in cementing people ideas about the ACC. If we win most of our bowl games that should start next year off with multiple highly ranked teams with more just in the wings, and with our recent coaching hires we have the cache to impress.04-cheers

Par for the course. Clemson was an underdog to OK last year and won by 34. GT was an underdog to Miss St and won convincingly. Personally, I don't understand why we're an underdog against Baylor. Vegas must like the Big 12.

So Vegas says we're going to go 2-7.

And if we go 4-5, that will be an "embarrassment" for the ACC I'm sure. Same as it ever was.

Baylor has received tons of respect from Vegas and backed it up most of the year. Narrow loss to Oklahoma with a backup QB and missing 6 defensive guys at DT & S. Lost in 2 OT's during a crazy monsoon at TCU with several out as well, and it took losing half the non-QB offensive guys as well as every single QB who could complete a pass downfield to lose to UT on the last plays of the game. Dominated solid WV and TTU teams that won against B1G & SEC teams. Beat a really good OkSt team on the road comfortably with a third string QB.

We've got a very good team and UNC is also very good. If our #2 and #3 QB's are healthy it's a fair line given how well they team has performed. Both teams are much better than their national narrative and should be a great game.

Big question for Bu is health. 3 OL, TE, 2 RB, both remaining QBs, and a DT all were out at the end of the game Saturday and their status is key.

109th rush defense facing the 4th rush offense.

Baylor has the better offense and defense.

Baylor has played a better schedule.

Not really....the most important games in conference perception are NC-Baylor and Clemson-OU

If North Carolina beats Baylor, and Clemson beats Oklahoma, the ACC will look substantially better than the Big XII....

the other games are cheesecake

Key stat: both remaining QBs

are they still going to be out?

Third string had a concussion early last Saturday and will be back.

2nd string is healing from a chipped bone in his heel and we'll have a better idea next week.

OLs, TE, RBs, and DT are also tbd.

We have a lot of underdogs, but any spread with 3-4 points is likely to be a close game.

This year, in games where the spread is 3 points or fewer, favorites only won the game 54% of the time.

By way of contrast, 9 out of 10 PAC teams are favored (Oregon is a 1 point dog to TCU). 9 of 10 SEC teams are favored as well (Florida a 4 pt dog to Michigan).

Those are already the two conferences with the best OOC records.
