Interesting. In 2013 we finished with an RPI of 33 and were the last team into the dance as an at large.

Updated the number. This past week is the first time we haven't grown the deficit.

RE: 26 Games Under .500
If we go 39-12 over the next two weeks we can get back to .500 before conference play starts.

Little Rock and its 21 RPI has the Sun Belt 2 spots in front.

Once they start SBC play, RPI will balloon. Speaking from past experience...

as long as they keep winning the rpi should
either hold steady or at least not get much worse

RE: 26 Games Under .500
I dont understand our basketball scheduling. Why can we not get creative and do things to help the conference at the same time.

Why not play everyone in your division twice. That gets you to 12 conference games right there. Then the last game or so the divisions should face off. Games are determined at the end of the year based on records/rpi or whatever is pre-determined. I would prefer RPI because of how much it seems to be used by the selection committee. Put the best teams from the divisions against each other. This would give those teams at the top another game against a quality opponent. The guys at the bottom of each division would get a win.

I don't know. A lot of you guys know more about this stuff than I do. Just kind of thinking out loud as I think the current conference scheduling is whack.

MT has played terribly (TONS of turnovers) and without Giddy Potts for the first half... and we're up 2 at Georgia State, 31-29. I'm surprised.

MT loses 64-62, Blue Raider leading scorer Potts did not play.

Do you guys know the reason he didn't play?

Old Dominion needs to figure this out, there is no reason a team like this shouldn't be able to perform on the road. Maybe someone needs to evaluate their current road regime and change things up, because the current formula isn't working.

It is inexplicable.

It's too bad that Chris Farley is no longer alive. We could use his "motivational speaker" character to accompany us on road trips.
