Finally, it was stated that TCU had held on to Patterson while UH had lost a number of good coaches.

UH was rising under Briles before he went to Baylor. When he left UH,
he took several coaches and players with him. He took RGIII who had commited to UH and a running back that was already on the roster. Then, it appeared UH was improving when Sumlin did a similar "hit" job on the school.

Now, it appears coaches are learning they can win and obtain great salaries at AAC schools. It also appears AAC programs can attract outstanding coaches.

This is and will continue to be a strong conference. It offers good value for TV and more money will come.

If the coaching raids of Briles and Sumlin had occurred at a P5 school that ESPN had more financial interest in, we would have already seen an outcry for NCAA legislation. Raiding coaches during the regular season and before conference championships are decided is not only unethical, but something the dark Las Vegas element can manipulate behind closed doors at the expense of basic decency and the unsuspecting waging public.

It still may get that type of attention, but probably only after ESPN takes a hit. Unless you're one that thinks ESPN plays in that "dark space" as well.

We seriously need to start nudging the P6 notion... I know we don't have the TV$$$ yet, but we ARE competing with the P5 WHERE IT MATTERS: 1. on the field; 2. for coaches; 3. for recruits; 4 at least some degree in gyou etting ranked teams. Are any of the G4 doing so well? Get us 5-6 million per year next TV round, and watch us bust it wide open...

We are at least as relevant as the old Big East was... or darn close to it...

Your average fan has no idea what TV contracts are for conferences...

You do realize that no old big east teams are ranked other than the one school they kicked out.
