I see where you are headed, but I wouldn't read to much into it. The B12 commissioner is from Iowa and formerly was the AD at UNI. Obviously he knows the guy very well and put in a word for him.

Troy is a really smart, personable, aggressive AD who has really wanted a shot at an FBS program. He’ll kill it.

I know nothing about this hire and my first thought was why a basketball guy? With that said, The Wolken is connected and knows his football and basketball.

Very impressed after the introductory press conference.

I missed it due to a meeting.

Is there a link to the video recording? My buddy and I (Tulane alumni) want to look at it.

For those of you who haven't watched it or don't want to, the gist of it is that he's impressive. He spent most of the press conference talking about how each member of the board and the President (and the Dean of Undergraduates) all have made it clear to him that the #1 priority is to win. He was fired up, excited, and ready for business. He begins immediately and suggested that we would have a head football coach sometime in the next week.

A good quote: "We're spending real money on a football coach. I've asked for a pool and I've got a pool that's highly competitive."

After listening to his press conference I think Troy will be a winner for Tulane.
