They're interviewing Mark Richt today. He's the top choice for both UVa and Miami. If he picks UVa, then Schiano likely takes the Miami job.

Richt would be a GREAT choice by Virginia. Perfect fit.

Good fit for both UVa and Miami if it pans out that way. Richt at UVa just looks and sounds right. Schiano and Miami too.

Why would Miami choose Schiano over Mullen?

because Mullen might not leave MSU for Miami.

I think him interviewing for the job means he will. It would be much easier to win in Miami with the recruiting down there. Just my opinion.

or maybe he uses it for a raise or larger buyout from MSU. those games are frequently played. who knows?

Schiano interviewed much better than Mullen did. Schiano went into it well prepared with a plan for the program and had already reached out to some possible assistants.

Mullen hasn't been ruled out but it sounds the order goes Richt, Schiano then Mullen.

I definitely believe Mullen would have moved this offseason for the right offer.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Richt picks Virginia over Miami.

If Virginia misses on Richt I really think they should go after Western Kentucky head coach Jeff Brohm

Would UVA look at Turner Gill? I know he had a horrible record at Kansas but everybody except Mangino since 1960 has had a horrible record at Kansas. He did a pretty good job at Buffalo and has done a good job at Liberty, and after four years in Lynchburg he should have plenty of recruiting ties.

If I were them, I would pursue Schiano, Mullen and Dykes.

Maybe Mullen and Dykes, but I don't get the infatuation people have with Schiano. He's a .500 overall coach who padded his resume with yearly games against weak HBCU teams. He was 20 games under .500 against his peers in the Big East.

Richt is the first one of their targets to turn them down, so I don't think UVa is in bad shape yet.

I don't see how Schiano would be any different from London. Both are good recruiters, and neither can coach.

Multiple outlets listed Richt as UVa's top choice. If you want to get into semantics, most coaching jobs aren't officially offered until they know what the answer will be. That just seems like hair splitting to me though.

I have heard that UVA actually never offered Richt. It could have been his heart was already leaning Miami and he told UVA that or that he wasn't what UVA was looking for.

What ever the case.

I think UVA should go Tressel.
