He said Football Scoop doesn't just report stuff without legit information so he believes there has to be something to it but he hopes it's wrong.

1) Football Scoop says if Odom (Plan A) isn't hired then Dickey (Plan B) will be named coach.
2) Geoff reports what Football Scoop reported.
3) Geoff hopes it's not true, but he admits that Football Scoop is reliable, has sources, and wouldn't just report that without having some sort of indication pointing in that direction.

Where's the misinformation?

That Dickey is plan B. He might wind up with the job, but he's not plan B.

If that's the case and he ends up with the job then I would think a minimum of 10 other coaches would have to turn us down first, which means either the Memphis job isn't as attractive as we all thought it was or the Administration mishandled this.

I'm not sure which is worse. I'm just ready for this to be done, preferably with someone other than Dickey being announced as head coach.

"Plan B" is the coach who takes the Memphis job. Otherwise you risk a parade of publically announced candidates who then turn down the position.
