UTSA cleaning house
Reports are swirling that UTSA OC has been let go and possibly one other position coach.

AD has unofficially said salary for new OC could double what Coach Brown was making.

Win or lose I love the fact that UTSA attempts to get better.

OC and possibly a position coach? I don't know if I'd call that cleaning house. I'd say you're dusting the coffee table.

I had lost some faith in Hickey but with this knowledge, I will now worship her for the time being. I've been wanting Brown's ass to be held accountable for his **** ups and it makes me so damn happy that we're taking some action to be competitive. Words cannot describe how much joy is in my heart right now.

This is really our first shake up so it feels like a major change.

Coker and the boys could do no wrong. Back to back losing seasons warrants some coffee table dusting.

Absolutely. I think you probably expected to struggle some this year...but not last year.

The fact that Soza isn't on the team this year is telling. It's not the OC's fault entirely. Soza did a lot for the team. I hope it doesn't bite you in the behind.

RE: UTSA cleaning house
The OL didn't do the OC any favors. Starting QB was killed, back up left the program before he could be killed and the 3rd string walk-on was not smart enough to fake getting killed.

The play calling was atrocious. 3rd string QB was getting demolished and he'd run QB draw the next play. Borderline criminal.

Addition by subtraction.

This may be prophetic. Uneven years of recruiting, particularly in the early years of a program, may be more the cause than coaching. I think UTSA has been much better than expected from the start. When you are down to a walk on QB for most of the season, your play calling may be limited.

Add UTSA's DC to the list.

I like adding new blood but so close to NSD is no Bueno.

Saw where the DC left UTSA to take the DC job at Eastern Michigan.

Not sure, but sounds like a "mutual parting of ways."

He might have got a pay raise out of it.

I wasn't a big fan of Coach Neathery's defensive schemes. 3rd and long doesn't mean draw up prevent.

It will be interesting to see who land.
